    Bestiary and item encyclopedia

Do you think we could one day have ingame encyclopedia about most of the stuff in the game. We kinda already have it for disciples of land and earth.

So why not have one for Weapons, armors, lore items and monsters

The special log they added for Nier should be upgraded to collect all the infos we can gather in all dungeon. And also evey lore we could gather around the world

Since we can try all weapons and armors, i think it encyclopedia should use artwork

For monsters, once you killed it a full 3D model should be nice with all the monster actions and sound.

It could be something that can be added at each patch

If I recall correctly they started this, found they couldn't get the system to work and scrapped the idea and took all the lore they made and put it into their books and stuff.

Either way I think it would be worth starting again, at least on equip-able items. Say you look at WoW's glamour system which basically can contain the glamour for every single item in the game (thousandsss of slots). . Add some lore to that. Absolutely amazing.

It is an insane amount of writing though, all of which to be translated lol. (Beyond the fact that it seems their system cannot achieve that level of storage, given the other memory issues we have too). Even Blizzard said they had to set aside a large amount of resources (money, people, and time) to make the system.

In general a codex would be cool, every book you read, keys you obtain, items you pick up, locations. Like the Codex in Bioware games, or in Witcher 3 with notes on characters and monsters. I can imagine having to store that on their servers is the part that they go "...heh.. uh no". But if it was do-able it would be very neat.

Very much agree with this. Especially making glamour system be like the transmog system in WoW so that we no longer to move around and keep the physical item of each gears.

I wish there was a way that, when I see a crafted item needs like hide or whatever, you can't "collect" that the normal way like mining, but I hate how I have to Google "ok....so what drops this and at what location". It's so tedious...
I wish there was a way to fix this. Every time this happens I go the lazy way out and just buy leather and stuff from the MB because most of the time leather requires hide which comes from a monster...and man, just tell me what drops it and where pls.

The closest we have to a bestiary is Triple Triad, as the cards have monster lore on them.
A bestiary could be cool, and an item encyclopedia would def be useful.

Ingame would be cool but their real books are nice.

The quality of the physical Eorzean Encyclopedias is actually really great. The paper is heavy and printed in full color. The binding has a matte coating on most of it, that makes it almost look and feel like leather. Only the embossed crystal is shiny.

There's also a bit of a bestiary for hunt monsters, although it's not centralized. And of course, the FATE text boxes often have a bit of info about the monsters involved. (There's a lot more Voidsent lurking around in random places than I realized. )

A lot of monster and boss lore is shown in the tripple triad cards.

I'd love a bestiary (it's kinda the reason I want Beastmaster as a job). I love the different wildlife I find in the game and after defeating a certain number, we could earn an entry like we do hunting logs.

Honestly just revamp hunting logs as also a working bestiary. I don't see it happening but a bunny can dream.
