    What we know about PVP in 6.0:

    Updated: 23/10/2021

    Here is everything that is known about the new casual PVP mode in Endwalker:
    1. The new mode will be Small Scale
    2. "it will be much smaller than Frontline, while being at least the same, or slightly larger scale than the Feast"
    3. Yoshi-P mentioned Rule changes meaning it will not be the same as current Feast Rules
    4. Map Change was also mentioned
    5. An element of occupying your opponents base was mentioned as a mechanic
    6. They will be moving away from the aspect of just Killing enemies or "Taking down enemies"
    7. They said there would be a Rating/Ranking for the new mode however "Those who only want to raise thier PVP rank fight thier way to get rewards, and either side will be able to match up and play" this implies ranked and casual play will be somewhat combined
    8. "As for the rewards, the content will offer not only equipment, but also rewards that will entice the players and fulfill their needs"
    9. The Reward System will be new with the intention of increasing the number of competitors joining
    10. Adjustments will be separate with the small scale PVP content (skill updates etc)
    11. Undecided if Feast will remain "the possibility of closing The Feast temporally is high."
    12. "Currently healers are in the state where they have the biggest responsibility.." "..So our plan right now is to have all participants have self healing, and battle by utilising the speciality and characteristics of each job."
    13. " Yoshi-P mentions they are developing it with reference to Apex, Fortnite, and Splatoon"

    Lol, there is always going to be some level of toxicity in video games, especially ones where you have to work together against other players. I feel like in general, the ffxiv playerbase is incredibly thin-skinned. Someone said some mean words to you in a video game? Hide chat. Taking away chat from everybody is extreme and I've never heard of any other game doing that. It's bs this happened to the pvp community. People get upset, name-call, and argue during savage raids. Should they remove chat for that too? No, because communication is necessary in savage. It's just as necessary in pvp. The macros aren't always enough. We aren't just being punished for the small percent being toxic- we are also being punished for the small percent who cannot control their emotional reactions.

    They use to back in Heavensward but they removed it to try to prevent toxicity in Feast. It didn't really help as less people wanted to play feast then it already had. Feast is extremely faulty. No one wants to play it as it's not rewarding and cheaters generally get the rewards with the high que times meaning people can cheat ques for automatic wins. The prizes only give a 100 to those in the top 100 and thus it doesn't support the average player and it makes it something few would want to run. The sad thing too is these rewards permanently get retired. some are actually nice rewards like mounts and glamour. SE didn't think the devs didn't think the mode through at all. For starters communication is especially necessary in this mode and chat functions don't allow you to properly communicate and strategize with your team. Toxicity will always probably happen in PvP anyway. It gets frustrating. Raids are the same way but we don't see them tossing communication with raids. In terms though the community isn't what it was back in HW and is a lot less toxic. Actually they kept something that creates the the most toxicity in the game. The Novice Network. Great feature that lets the community chat to random people but it makes a lot of mentors believe they run the game and aren't players like everyone else. In terms SE stated about creating a new PvP mode not necessarily the removal of feast. If they do it'll probably be a replacement of Feast for a better version. They've done this with other content too like Diadem. In terms Feast and PvP has been reworked before such as crfeating PvP skills and changing the previous wolves den that locked at certain levels. The original was 30 minimum though you wanted to be maxed geared and 50 in ARR then level 60 in HW. If they follow the same pattern they might create a feast that might attract people to want to play it more. Ever wonder why people focus BLM? That was the strat previous to changes with their flaw of targetting people to be put to sleep. This is no longer the case and sleep has been reworked and put on healers. Still people seem to target them regardless in any mode regardless their melee are in the front and more likely to be killed first. LoL. Sorry to ramble on but just went on on on how previously this went.

    This better not be Combat Potions mk2, this atrocity deserves to be sunk into the ocean, never to be uncovered again.

    I hope this will also mean that all the Jobs get balanced in a way, where you can have proper 1vs1 matches with every possible matchup between Jobs without fights being onesided (looking straight at you, DRG "mains") or incredibly stale (anyone vs healer). Teamfights would be alot more fun that way.
