I'd love Fordola as another tank. Probably not a 'paladin' just as Ryne wasn't a ninja but a sword and shield tank.

Put Graha back to using a bow for a ranged physical and then we're good.

I'd honestly rather not see a flood of new trusts, just a couple to fill in some gaps. A phsycial ranged dps and a second tank would be good for me.

I'm a big Fordola sucker, so I'd go with Fordola.

I know she doesn't seems appreciated, most of my friends don't.

I dislike Fordola for what she did in Stormblood, but 5.5 has shown to me she is willing and ready for redemption, much like Gaius was for me with the Weapon storyline. Considering that the writing is now also there for it, I wouldn't mind her being around more.

I've said this before, but I'd love it if Ryne returned as a Trust and brought Gaia with her, with the catch being they're both All-Rounders now.

As a DPS, Ryne could be the same as she is now, but upgraded with more abilities (Light-themed Ninjutsu, and other high level Ninja stuff). As a Tank, she could be a Gunbreaker with a dash of Paladin aesthetics. And as a Healer, she could be a Scholar with Eden Shiva (Light/Hydaelyn Form) as her fairy.

As for Gaia, she could be a darkness-themed Warrior as a Tank, a Summoner with Eden Shiva (Ice Form) as her Egi. And as for Healer... I don't know. Scholar is the only one we won't have going forward, what with Alphinaud switching to Sage. And unlike Ryne, there's no particular reason for her to follow in another character's footsteps even if it's redundant. But maybe a Zodiac-themed Astrologian would work.

So many JRPG's have cool moments where you put aside differences with a sympathetic/honourable antagonist and fight alongside each other against some bigger threat. FFXIV, so far, is rather lacking on that particular front...but it need not be, assuming a decent explanation could be put forward.

We get to fight alongside Beatrix and Gabranth in FFIX and FFXII. We get to fight alongside Sydney at one point in Vagrant Story. Come on, FFXIV!

I’d like them to not reset the level this time. I used Trust a lot while I was slowly working through Shadowbringers then when they reset my level I did a couple of Holminster Switches then gave up. Haven’t touched it since.

Trailers point to Emet-Selch being our new narrator. Tricky to catch in English trailers as it seems to be a different actor, but it’s Emet’s VO in other languages narrating the Endwalker trailer.

I don't see how that in itself points to anything besides some of the other languages re-hiring Emet's voice actor, especially if the English version is not the same person.

Aren't the Trusts companions supposed to be story characters that travel with you?
Not trying to rain on any parades here, but a lot of ideas being thrown around and I'm not sure how some of these NPC's would be able to join us in even just the ShB duties. I'd be pretty confused to see a lot of the proposed NPCs showing up to fight with me in, say, Pagl'than and/or The Twining...

Trusts have always been split into two concepts - scenario mode where you get whoever is rightfully with you at that point in the story, and the "avatars" that you need to manually level up. The frustrating bit is getting locked out of scenario mode from the time you reach the credits until you finish levelling the avatars.

My hope for 6.0 is that 70-80 trust EXP is buffed and the access to scenario mode remains at level 80 and not shifted up to 90.

Most likely any new trusts will be added starting at 80 like G'raha but will need levelling to 90 (snore).


Edit to add what was my original point for bringing up the split! The avatars aren't bound to scenario restrictions, so you can use any of them in any dungeon. Having the full group of Scions in Holminster is just as lore-breaking as Ryne being usable in Source dungeons. One way or another, they shouldn't be there at that time.

What if rather than adding levels they added perks, almost akin to some stuff we have for squadrons but hopefully far more interesting. Like you have in a lot of Bioware games for your side buddies, or I guess more shallow but also in Diablo 3 and your companion (ignore the fact it relates to level... lol).

In that situation you can make them better, like perhaps seeing Break used, or a long cooldown shield save by Urianger (rather than dying you get shielded). It would be easier to 'level' up a new trust by using two other high powered trust members, and speed up the overall process and reduce restraints, but the first time round you need to empower them past their shinning story moment you might still go back to earlier dungeons first just to ease them in (but you could move them around more easily than before, and using two merited trusts could help). Say the first time, the story time, that they do dungeons they're invigorated with some sort of buff (like the one WoL often gets, but named differently for lore purposes).

Like Lyse as MNK, Hien or a new ally as SAM, Yugiri as NIN, maybe Boulder as WAR? and so on. Or let us use the job trainers or fellow job npcs, like Aldyn or Sylphie, one of the NIN job npcs or one of the two cat girls from the MNK quests :3.

Tank - PLD
Healer - WHM
Dps - BLM

As for npcs I'd like to see:
K'rid Tia - As a master Arcanist I'm sure this aloof miqo'te could spice up the caster job.
Yugiri - Though I think she's bound to Hien upon Gosetsu's retirement she's been a stalwart ally since she came to us.
Papashan - One of the very rare good lalafells. He may be old and tied to the sultana but the Ul'dah starting storyline only showed us a small glimpse of him.
Midgardsormr - Just his little dragonling form as a healer like he was during the Omegascape series. A cute little dragonling is always a fun addition yes?
E-Sumi-Yan - A pipe dream I know, but given that he's one of the older Padjal he's a wealth of white magic that I'm sure would heed the elementals bidding him to action.
Beast Tribe Leaders - Given that relations between the city-states and the beastmen are very much on the mend for the better I'd say the scions would gladly welcome paragons of them into their ranks. Especially since the scions generally have a better understanding and more positive viewpoint of most of them.
