What major or minor plot points do you wish to see followed up on? [Spoilers]

There's a lot of lore to FFXIV. Some of it deep, some of it light...but more often than not, established plot elements are usually brought back to the forefront once more! So with that in mind, what do you want to see addressed in the near or distant future?

    On my end:

    Silvertear Lake:

I think this is very likely to be addressed soon. I really want to know just what, exactly, is lurking beneath it that required protection so badly. I have some theories of my own, of course - but it'd nice to get some answers!

    Ruins in the Shroud:

There's a lot of Gelmorran ruins dotted around the Black Shroud, some of which we've explored. I think it'd be cool to explore a dungeon that plays up the Gelmorran elements since Palace of the Dead sort of pushed them to the side.

    Ruins in Dravania:

We know that man and dragon once lived side by side in peace. There's also a pretty interesting looking 'door' to some ruins in Dravania that looks like the perfect place to put a dungeon if the writers ever wish to uncover some ancient lore from the more peaceful era.

    Regula van Hydrus:

We still don't know what he looks like. Perhaps there could be a statue within Garlemald that finally shows off his facial features? I personally thought it was a real shame that the Oversoul project was not exploited as a way of showing what he looked like beneath his helmet.

So, that's about it for now - but more plot threads will probably spring to mind later, so I'll drop them here as well if they do! I'm curious to see what other mysteries and plot elements others here are eager to see more of!

I agree with you Theo about Gelmorra. Especially the Gelmorran Ruins in the North Shroud that have been enigmatic since 1.0.

And speaking of 1.0, I'd like to see some closure with the 1.0 Gridania storyline - what happened to Fye, Khrimm and their parents' 'secret mission' as well as the other Ala Mhigo veterans-turned-outcasts labelled 'wildlings' (Dunstan presumedly went onto better things in Gridania given he's had a anti-Ixal watchtower named after him post Calamity) - a theory was that they were actually part of secret mission to entrap the Garleans by using the elementals as a weapon, but nothing was ever proven one way or the other, so I would love to finally have some closure on this lingering plotline.

Also, how exactly did Yda and Papalymo entrap Dunstan, who supposedly kicked the butts of the Wood Wailers and God's Quiver sent after him? (Or was that, as was believed, the work of an Ascian?) Limsa and especially Ul'dah's 1.0 stories were given some closure in ARR and it's expansions but Gridania seems the one currently left out, so I would love to see these 1.0 things finally put to rest.

I've also been waiting for Gridania to get some love for a while now! I'm still a little salty that there's no ranger/druid job in-game because then I'd just spend most of my idling time lurking in the forests...

That space between the m and the a annoys me to no end.

Meanwhile, I agree with Silvertear Lake being a huge question mark in Hydaelin, exactly what required a near-suicidal attack from Midgarsormr? Outside of that, most of my wishlist is already confirmed or teased to be followed up in EW.
Confirmed: Thavnairian history and culture, seeing as we're going there. We've gotten teases of culture and fashion through the whole game but it's different actually GOING THERE.
Teased: Sharlayan, especially day-to-day culture and architecture (did they just copy what they already built in the homeland for the colony? How different, culturally, are those born in the colony from those in the island? Just HOW large are their libraries?) The remnants of the Ivalician Resitances, just who is the "Princess"? Will that be answered in 5.55 or is that a dangling plot thread for "later"? What is up with the Meracydians?
Neither: What the <kupo> is Blindfrost? Will Valnain ever be relevant? Willl we see the REST of the Isle of Koshu?

I had to go get another version than the one I've got saved on my drive because I thought people would get confused and think I meant that...

I'd like to see the ruined parts of the setting restored.

I know it will never happen, but it would also be nice to see updates to parts of the world.

Coerthas isn't actually supposed to be a snowy wasteland; before the Calamity it was green and verdant with snowcapped mountains. A lot of people don't realize that Ishgard actually had a large ocean harbor with sea trade, because the harbor in Western Coerthas is frozen. Would be nice to see the ice thaw and greenery and color return to Coerthas, as well as see Ishgardians begin rebuilding and resettling Coerthas (in Western Coerthas there was a village right outside the fort that was buried in snow, and the village further north where you met Ysalye was abandoned).

In Central Thanalan, there are a lot of Thanalan refugees (not to be confused with Ala Mhigan refugees), people who came from towns that were destroyed offscreen by Bahamut. Would be nice to see the refugee camps disassembled and rebuilt towns/new settlements pop up in Thanalan.

The farms and settlements of Ala Mhigo and Doma fell into disrepair after decades of the fit men being conscripted away, running off the join the Resistance, or being arrested/executed. Would be nice to see men return home and those settlements like Ala Gahnna and Namai a little more populated and being fixed up. Same with Kholusia on the First, with the shack town outside Eulmore being broken down and more permanent houses and farmsteads being setup (as well as that abandoned village being repopulated).

(^^^ I know all this is SUPPOSED to be happening in lore... but it's not as satisfying to just pretend it's happening as actuallying seeing it actually happening)

I'd feel really bad if we marched into Garlemald, killed Zenos, and then said "hooray we defeated evil!" and just waltzed back home, leaving Garlemald a wasteland. He'd also like to see Bozja restored. Maybe not the capital city, but... at least some sort of new settlement being built up. To my knowledge we've never visited a populated Bozjan town before.

I'd also like to see the areas of the setting that were heavily damaged aetherologically to be restored, like the Burn (aether drained by the Garleans, is like the Empty on the First), Meracydia (might have been blasted by a nuke like Bozja or is another Empty), and the World of Darkness/13th Shard.

I want to see more of this in the future as well. We have seen it before with Mor Dhona, Idylshire, and the Doman Enclave so it is my hope that we will see them expand upon it in more ways in the future.

They have begun to rebuild the damage in Ishgard in the Foundation which was damaged before we got there in the first assault on the city. With a similar thing happening to the Garlean capitol to a much greater degree I am at least hoping there is some rebuilding there, essentially Doman Enclave Restoration 2.0.

On already existing maps I kind of wish more of the architecture such as the bridges and abandoned towns in Doma got restored with the restoration. And of course the Big One I want, The main city of Ala Mhigo to be accessible outside of the dungeon.

I'm probably in the minority, but I'd like to see Wedge and Tataru's relationship, and whether they'll get together or not haha

I'd like to know more about the WHM of Amdapor, namely how they based their stone warriors off of Sin Eaters. Did they really open up a portal to a "higher plane" or did some of them become so infused with Light aether that they mutated into a Sin Eater-like entity and used that as an inspiration?

Then there's the Mhachi later-era structures and Void Ark that look somewhat similar to the pillars we see on 5.4 and up.

I'd also like to know more about the ancient Goug who are supposed to be the ancestors of the Garleans. Did using "Tartarus" backfire on them and forced them to leave?
