MSQ =/= Character Progression.Out of those, only Toto-Rak is actually required for the MSQ. The other three (and Halatali, Sunken Temple of Qarn, and Wanderer's Palace, for that matter) have hunt marks in them for Grand Company logs, but the Grand Company membership is never required beyond the first couple of quests to meet Biggs and Wedge and to get your mount license. They're side content.
Besides, there's content locked behind GC ranks, housing being a big example, you have to be a Second Lieutenant in order to own property, including apartments and FC rooms, and that requires both AV and DD.
Yep, that's EXACTLY my point.
Having to slog through MSQ fetch quests, which I do get that when they were created, were meant to fulfill the dev's promise for updates as well as keep players occupied until the next expansion.
My only problem with them is that new and returning players have to slog through them, despite owning the latest expansion (and kudos to the devs for making that a thing!), most of which have nothing to do with story.
They could fix this by changing the coding of those quests to something other than MSQ.

You're right.
But those things aren't hard to do.
Housing in FF14 is not only savage, but just about bragging rights, decorating, and gardening.
Your time would be better spent crafting or harvesting, so you can afford to buy things from folks who spent hours/days, clicking on a sign.
Yep.
But I've got all of them around level 75, regardless that I don't have access to level 70+ zones, because of MSQ restrictions.
Because, as I said, "your time would be better spent crafting or harvesting..." And so now it's trivial for me to buy mats from the market, for my crafters to make something profitable from them. I have enough money and GC rank to buy a house, if only houses were more useful, and I was interested in decorating.
Except fishing. I've only leveled that to mid-60's, but almost solely by buying fish from other players, and giving them to my Grand Company for both levels and GC seals.

1: There's nothing about something being easy that means it has a place. You're right.

2: You don't have to click a placard to get an apartment, unless things have changed *drastically* since I walked up to the caretaker at the topmast next to my FC's house and bought one with zero fuss.
3: What's to say I don't spend a good portion of my time crafting? If you checked my lodestone profile for even a moment you'd see that I'm 80 across the board for DoH and DoL, and I can tell you right now that I'm fully pentamelded on all of my crafters, and I supply my static with raid food and tinctures.
Then what are you complaining about? Other than trying to troll me and failing? I don't care about decorating, so why should I want an apartment in FF14? If I did, I'd work on my real life house instead of playing FF14.1: There's nothing about something being easy that means it has a place.

And why should I check your profile, instead of only responding to what you say in this forum? Isn't it clear that I figured it out from what you've said here alone?

I'm wondering why you'd do savage raiding if you supposedly hate this 'crappy' game as much as you do, going by the content of your nier topic, very curious
Because the world isn't black and white like you seem to think it is.
I have a lot of problems with the way the game is right now, and I think the development team has consistently failed to do due diligence in ensuring that problems didn't find their way onto the live game.
With that said, a broken clock is right twice a day, and the current savage tier is actually quite good.

No content that serves as a near-universal negative play experience has a right to exist, regardless of whether it's difficult or not. Then what are you complaining about? I've never met someone who enjoys Aurum Vale, or the hours of mindless fetch quests that don't even have relevant dialogue, or any of the multitude of other things that are generally unenjoyable.
As for why you should check my profile, it's because you've made a couple of assumptions over the course of this thread that would be obviously incorrect with even a cursory glance at what I've accomplished in this game.
