Housing in FF14 is not only savage, but just about bragging rights, decorating, and gardening.

Your time would be better spent crafting or harvesting, so you can afford to buy things from folks who spent hours/days, clicking on a sign.

But I've got all of them around level 75, regardless that I don't have access to level 70+ zones, because of MSQ restrictions.

Because, as I said, "your time would be better spent crafting or harvesting..." And so now it's trivial for me to buy mats from the market, for my crafters to make something profitable from them. I have enough money and GC rank to buy a house, if only houses were more useful, and I was interested in decorating.

Except fishing. I've only leveled that to mid-60's, but almost solely by buying fish from other players, and giving them to my Grand Company for both levels and GC seals.

1: There's nothing about something being easy that means it has a place.
2: You don't have to click a placard to get an apartment, unless things have changed *drastically* since I walked up to the caretaker at the topmast next to my FC's house and bought one with zero fuss.
3: What's to say I don't spend a good portion of my time crafting? If you checked my lodestone profile for even a moment you'd see that I'm 80 across the board for DoH and DoL, and I can tell you right now that I'm fully pentamelded on all of my crafters, and I supply my static with raid food and tinctures.

No content that serves as a near-universal negative play experience has a right to exist, regardless of whether it's difficult or not.

I've never met someone who enjoys Aurum Vale, or the hours of mindless fetch quests that don't even have relevant dialogue, or any of the multitude of other things that are generally unenjoyable.

As for why you should check my profile, it's because you've made a couple of assumptions over the course of this thread that would be obviously incorrect with even a cursory glance at what I've accomplished in this game.

I'll admit to no small amount of confusion regarding why exactly you chose to respond so vigorously to my original comment, as I was effectively agreeing with you from the start.
I was responding to the person who responded to your OP what they would classify as essential.

I have extremely fond memories of learning how to best use the Bard AoE abilities during a run through Aurum Vale with the leader of my FC back in the Heavensward era. I enjoy running through it still. So, now you've met someone.

Aurum Vale is a big meme in my FC ever since we tried to run through it without ever eating the fruit. And oh man the atmosphere of that place, those cramped overgrown tunnels with morbol coming at you still spooks me.
We have more fun with it than 90% of what a levelling roulette can give us.
