Just pondering why it is I get so tired of this game after awhile.

Well, you obviously haven't played No Man's Sky if you think it's a housing sim.

NMS is basically an exploration game with an underwhelming story and a focus on making your own hubs across different planets. Some people use them to make massive houses and others use them to make massive farms to exploit the system (myself being one when I last played).

So yes, basically a housing/building sim with enough people bored that they started breaking the economy of the game for something to do. I have more money than I will ever need in that game because I got so bored and decided to join in.
