    I keep hearing this about bene being a death sentence, and i Know it was for the most part in 11 cus it actually had a built in threat modifier, but in 14 it seems to only generate as much hate as an equal amount of curing would. I'm main tank and whm is more my pet project, but I've never seen a whm pull using bene nor have I done so myself. Perhaps in exp situations, but for endgame (speed runs, moogle, ifrit) I've never seen it happen. Even in Chim fight (which seems to me to be the only time whms ever pull threat, and the new changes to emnity materia should alleviate that even for groups whose tanks don't have HDL).

    That said, use bene more without fear tbh. As to the topic at hand, a hi mp cost, long recast isntant cure would be really nice I think. Perhaps as an ability that sacrifices hp (there aren't currently abilites that use up mp are there?) would work as well. Just something we can do in the space of a single "ability crouch."

    Yea a big thing is that as some people have said, use Benediction whenever it's necessary. It's only 15 min recast, the enmity isn't insta-death like in 11, and it's only useful if you actually use it.

    For Aurum Vale I've been using it at the tail end of the first room (the one we go through without fruits) as we have a lot of enemies and once everyone dips around 50% its best to use it then because by that point just straight healing is pretty much impossible. Once me and other WHMs started getting more confident with our benediction usage the runs became infinitely smoother.

    This is a great suggestion and it would be a fun spell for WHM, but currently the dev. team doesn't have any plans to implement this at the moment. Well, here's to hoping!

    All I'm seeing here is a case of, "DDs and Tanks need to watch both their HP levels and how far away they are from their dedicated healers."

    I've seen people run away to the next mobs with flashing red HP, while I'm in the middle of casting a Cura. Stop it people!

    I like the idea. It would have not much more impact than say some of the higher potions. Heck... I'd even like to see a "trade HP" ability... sort of a reverse vampirism between the WHM and the target ally. That would be perfect for thoes uh-oh moments. Call it "Sacrifice of Light" or something.

    Just tested Presence of Mind with Benediction. Doesn't work. So, can't cast Benediction twice back to back.

    I agree with having some kind of a cure spell that I can cast while moving. The BRD AF body quest is really difficult because you have to keep moving with your party members as they fight and kite.

    Back on the Martyr discussion: What if there was a 2 hour spell that:
    1. Raised and cured all party members with full HP/MP
    2. Protected and Stoneskinned all party members
    3. Hit/possibly binding all mobs in AOE
    Now, for what it would cost the WHM
    1. Death
    2. Once revived/returned WHM is at Brink of Death for 5 minutes
    3. All gear equipped by WHM is at 0%

    While it would be an awesome spell, it would not change the role of the WHM as the cost would be so high. I'll keep hoping ^^

    Way too potent to be viable at all. The benefits make it ridiculously broken, to the point where it's expected to be used if things ever get close to bad. The gear damage makes it so that the majority of WHMs would never want to use it ever. There are work arounds such as macros to unequip all your gear but that causes more problems in and of itself (how long it takes, you might die by that point, etc, etc.) Not a good idea at all.

    I agree a sort of sacrifice thing would be nice, something like takes half your current HP and cures target for that amount. Nothing too spectacular.
