Is there a particular style of clothing the "Rising Dragon" set is referencing?

As someone trying to look for the perfect Monk glamour, I've tried this out recently, among a dozen other glamours. Along with mixing and matching them. Particularly I'm looking for glamours that would make me feel like a Street Fighter character, like Makoto. Taoist shirt, Ryumyaku striking, ect.

I really like the fact that Tonfa exist, for a karate feel. Ryukyu culture references in general would be neat for Monks. But I digress. It has what seems like a sort of Eastern look to me, but why and what it's called, I can't exactly place.

The back is the most obvious to me, as it looks like a Chinese style cloud design. And, well, "rising dragon", Western Dragons aside, sounds like it's referencing Eastern Dragons. There's definitely a few restaurants in the US called "Rising Dragon".

It wouldn't be surprising, PvP is a pretty good way to get Eastern Style glamours, especially for low level characters. Though this in particular isn't part of the Stormblood section. It also has a somewhat similar look to the Late Allagan gear. And it being part of the Heavensward section would make sense, since it's called "dragon" and all.

So maybe I'm just imagining things. What clothing and culture is this in particular inspired by?

Going with my personal Eastern theme aside, I think it looks really neat. As it's one of the only things that makes my Lalafell self look muscular.

But the more I look at it, the more curious it makes me.

Does anyone know more about the culture and references behind this gear?
And for that matter, what particular artifacts and styles inspired the Ryumyaku gear sets? The Ryumyaku gear is %100 Eastern, and is apparently written 龍脈 and means "Dragon Veins". Or at least, that's what Googling seems to tell me. I do at least recognize Ryu as meaning Dragon. And am not surprised, as Dragons play a major role in Chinese culture. Hence Shinryu and Heavensward leading up to Stormblood. It was actually a little disappointing, how little Dragons featured in Stormblood, and the lack of role Shinryu played.

But given the name and meaning, I love using Ryumyaku gear in particular as Dragoon. It seems fitting.

But it's been hard to find more information related to the meaning and history of Ryumyaku, and its relation to Final Fantasy XIV gear. It's also not as clear to me what parts are what historical clothing/armor, or as obvious as something like a Samurai Kabuto or Oyoroi. Genta/Genji gear looks obviously Samurai to me.

But I guess I got off topic. I made the topic for the Rising Dragon gear. Does anyone know anything deeper about it?

From what limited blurb was included in Art of Ishgard Stone&Steel (the second art book) says about the armor set, the back of the helmet has an (Eastern) Dragon motif while the front has an Oni motif.

From my understanding there is no real deeper meaning. They wanted to make a series of armors for PvP based off of mythical beasts and the chosen beast for the Monk/Ninja sets was the Eastern Dragon and so they made a middle weight martial art set themed after it with generic eastern aesthetics. In is simply a fantasy armor set with east Asian styling.
