My wife has issues playing new content with other people because she is the type that doesn’t want a guide to tell her what to do and will absolutely die a few times her first time encountering a new mechanic. She also gets super nervous and freaks out (often leading to her death).

Until the trust system came out, she only ever did content exclusively with our small closely knit group and wouldn’t even attempt any raids unless required for MSQ.

Now, because of the trusts, she can “practice” and has actually gotten very good at the 5.0 content/knowing mechanics.

In addition to all of that long winded story time, if you are seriously comparing a trust party to competent PCs...I don’t know what to say. Trusts get the job done but it’s agonizingly slow.

To;dr: not liking trusts is fine, you do you. Calling them cancer? Bit disingenuous.

FFXIV is not a “git gud” mmorpg. It’s Pirates of the Caribbean.. or Small World. Everyone waits in line, gets on the boat, goes through the set pieces together. Very little about this game is meant to be challenging, and we like that.

I never said anything about it being git gud, and good for your wife, but its still a system that should only be in dungeons imo, people are rather nice and making your own communities should be encouraged. Not having it automated it for every little thing. MMOs should cater to creating interaction, not reducing it, the system reduces it, it redeuces people working together to figure things out. Its a system that should be done away with as a whole. ANd if thats considered *getting gud* sucks having to work with others is now considered being hardcore or asking too much. But the bar was never high to begin with.
