    Trying to get Arcanist job

I leveled a Conjurer to level 16 and did all the class quests up to and including the level 15 one. I then went to the Arcanist guild to learn the Arcanist job, no dice; it's not offered to me by any NPC there. What am I missing?

What level is you main story quest at ?
I think you must be level 10 and have done a certain main story quest to unlock other classes

Did you do your Main Scenario quest?

I bought a main scenario boost to level 50 so I could fly while leveling Job classes in the beginning area. Even though my conjurer has completed up tp level 15 class quests, I can't pickup any other jobs; I even logged out and back in, no dice.

More to the point, ACN is a class not a Job. Also unlocking classes is not connected to the main scenario, it just requires you to get to level 10 in your starting class and complete all the class quests given by your starting class's Guild up to and including the level 10 one - you'll know you have passed this point if when you completed that quest the Guildmaster for your starting class tells you that you have been granted leave to try your hand at other Disciplines, and completing the level 10 quest will outright tell you in big letters 'ARMOURY SYSTEM UNLOCKED'.

This may sound odd but, have you already unlocked it? The reason is believe it or not many people have done that in the past, unlocked a class then never touched and it and completely forgotten they did so, then decide to go back and think they still need to unlock it despite having already done so (and wonder why the quest is not available). To check, you can either open the Journal and under 'Completed Quests' check class quests and for ACN class quests if it lists the starting class, or open the Character menu and click on the Classes and Jobs tab, and for Magic DPS, if ACN has a zero next to a slash and a set of numbers to next level, you have already unlocked it. If it just has dashes then you haven't unlocked it yet.

A third way of checking to see if you have already unlocked it or not is probably the simplest way - just get a level 1 ACN grimoire and try and equip it. If it doesn't let you then you have not unlocked it (either you haven't unlocked the Armoury System itself which allows you to change class, or you haven't unlocked that class).

Thanks you so much Enkidoh, you were right. the class was unlocked. I had a grimoire in my inventory and equipped it and I am good to go. I had switched over to another toon to play in the mean time but now I can go back to this one. I don't fully understand why it worked out this way but I accept it... again thanks !!

I think I know what happened. So I don’t have to setup any new character’s tasks bars from scratch. I have the settings saved from one of my earlier characters. After I create a new character, I log out of the character and then copy the saved settings over to my new character’s folder; it saves a lot of time of configuring the taskbar for the new character. There always is a log file in the old settings. I decided to see what would happen if I didn’t include the log file this time: I found out the hard way. Your input led me to this insight. Thanks again.
