Level 35 Paladin quest is literally impossible

How about go level up some more if you think higher level is needed? It's not like you can't get to lv80 without doing this quest.
I've never done job quest right on level... I even got commented on being lv40+ Lancer (during duty run) that I'd be much stronger if I became DRG.
(They stayed 5 mins commenting on it after we finish the duty... talk about friendliness)
Leveling is so easy these days, and if you feel anguish from failing something so many times, switch to do other things.

Its quite sad when you are bad at a hobby and crying about it in the forums, rather than finding a solution to said problem.
Either you didn't understand the mechanics of the fight or your gear is super low. The gear scales significantly early on. The monsters do a lot more damage with a gear below 10 levels already. This includes all type of content, your dungeon runs wont be different if you dont gear up properly.

Actually that's more believable than this one, if the player doesn't swap to topaz.

Because emerald will hit everything with 1 spell, and you get the threat, meaning you're instantly bombarded with 20 mobs in your face hitting you hard. I did that with an alt and even on very easy I couldn't do it without changing pets just due to the sheer incoming damage.

Of course if you just used topaz you never get hit.

For reasons i couldnt rightly explain, i decided that i wouldnt summon any carbuncles until i had a summoner soul stone. So i can report that you can actually get through the entire arcanist line using ruin, DoTs, energy drain, and fester. I had a combination of brand new gear and crafted. And while i have some understanding of caster play(being a BLM main), i was figuring the class out as i went. So yeah, is perfectly doable.

I wasn't saying that it wasn't. In fact, the potency for emerald carbuncle is so horribly bad (20 potency auto attacks) that isn't barely a loss to not have a pet at all before 30's ifrit egi.

I was only saying how, in that scenario of a quest, the emerald carbuncle ends up hurting you, due to changes to how pets work. It's painfully easy if you don't use emerald carbuncle (which funny enough, the game gives you topaz right before to promote using that anyways for it)

I may not have typed my message as clearly as i wanted to. I could tell you werent saying it was impossible. You explained a way that someone may commit unintentionally self-sabotage. I was just further explaining through my own example of being crazy that its even easier then people may think, and you dont need a pet at all. I guess i could have replied to the other guy instead, but i felt like i was adding on to your point more then i was countering the fake-example of the 15 acn quest being impossible. So... it is what it is. We both understand that this quest(and every other class and job quest) is completable.

The ringtails are monsters in the overworld yeah? If your chocobo fails you, you could ask a high level friend to come one shot them for you :P

So even if it were impossible for PLD by itself at 35, you could ask for outside aid, since it's not even trapped in an instance.

I do remember some GLA/PLD stuff being a bit hard, but that was me IIRC, not the quests per se. I may not have been so well geared, it was my first tank, etc. Am going through same story on an alt at the moment, and keeping my gear nice(ish, the levelling goes so fast it's not always a big deal) and not running into any problems I had the first time. My experience did indeed teach me well, as the shrine in Diablo II used to tell me.
