Adaptive trigger use on PS5 for WXHB

I was thinking this since I first read about the adaptive triggers on the DualSense controller, but I was never sure how well it would work. The the double-tapping of the triggers for WXHB isn't ideal, but before the DualSense, I saw no other way to implement it. Now there is: half/full press of the trigger for "normal" XHB and WXHB. The adaptive triggers are capable of providing the necessary resistance and feedback.

I'm not sure how well this would work in practice, one has to try. Unfortunately, there are no drivers for the DualSense yet to experiment with this at home. However, if you start up Astro's Playroom, the very first thing it does is something in exactly this line. More importantly, Returnal is coming out soon and uses the triggers in such a way: half press for normal fire, full press for secondary fire. Previews of Returnal agree that this works great.

So, it would be nice to see something like this in FFXIV for the WXHB.

I agree 100% on this, the double press with the PS5 dualsense is really not ideal. Having the adaptive trigger either with a soft bottom out (like cold war) or a dual trigger feel like astro would be much better.

Totally agree, this would be the ideal control scheme for me.

Does anyone know of a way to emulate this with other software? DS4Windows has added support for the DualSense adaptive triggers, although it is a little rudimentary. I managed to get really close with their "Full Click" trigger effect setting, and setting the Dual Stage mode to Exclusive with full pull running a macro that un-presses the trigger, waits a short delay and re-presses it (emulating a double tap). This *almost* works, but it seems like the threshold for triggering that full pull is a little lower than the threshold for the Full Click effect, so I find that sometimes if I do a soft pull it will trigger the double tap instead of the single tap. I haven't found a way to adjust that threshold.

Alternatively, I would love to find a way to better surface this feature request to SE.
