None of it are "tips" the best way to make gil is a game play/life style change, you have to become a crafter/gatherer if not both.
If you haven't already leveling all your gatherer's to max is the best way to start your crafting journey as it allows you to basically exchange time x gil depending on what resource you farm and also allows you to circumvent buying certain pricey materials for your crafters.
From there you start the long journey of leveling all your crafters up to 80, once that happens making gil is fairly easy as it becomes more time x gil except better especially if you prepare for the rat race that is tier drop.
I know raiders who keep 10m gil saved just so they can buy their crafted set and pots on patch day drop.
If you don't want to do all that another easy way to make gil though not efficient at all in terms of actually grinding gil is to do dog & dragon farm runs and sell the mat drop, if there is a relevant shiny new weapon you can sell it for like 1-2m.
But it has to drop and you have to beat 7 other people in the loot roll. However you can desynth all weapon drops from said farms once you have a crafter at 30 and that also has a chance to drop said mat, iirc.
You can also do roulette's and do grand company turn ins and turn your seals into glamour prisms for easy cash. For the first month when people didn't know you could do this it was a decently lucrative market.
You can also run maps that you get from your gatherer's or from buying them. These maps give more mats for crafting and sometimes have portals which have varying gil worth ranging from 10k-3m maybe 5m depending not only on how lucky you are but how relevant the mats you get are to new items, specifically glamour.
Getting lucky and being on the cutting edge of new content is another way to make gil if you're lucky. 2B hairstyle drops from new raid, day 1 it sells for 10m, 3 days later it's selling for 2m. Sell day 1 for 10m, buy back day 3 for 2m, profit 8m.
Finally you can do hunt trains, they're fast, easy, happen all the time, and require almost no effort. It's just a matter of teleporting around and killing mobs. Every kill rewards you hunt currency and items that can be converted into materia which you can sell for easy money. In fact your best bet for making quick cash the fastest and most consistent is unfortunately hunt trains.
All in all the closer we get to 6.0 the deader DR is going to get which means the supply is going to get even lower and the price is going to hike up unless SE changes stuff. This is all conjecture though because the game is currently kind of in a lull and DR might be even more active once 6.0 drops along with its changes, who knows.

Over 200 runs, 1 barding, one mount, no hairstyle. I stopped running it a while ago.
They might increase the drop rate a bit with next patch, which will include a Bozja update, but who knows. They might not.
