    Horrible server desync

Lately my game desyncs from the server all the time.

With desyncing from the server i mean this:

I can move on my Game, however all other Players stop moving, the boss doesnt continue its rotation (noticeable in hard content) and i dont get any buffs / debuffs from casts/abilities (should get dualcast after every cast, because i usually play redmage). Then after a short time, like 10 seconds, my game resyncs with the server. At this moment i recieve all my buffs, see the playermovement of other players and see all the boss mechanics from when the boss paused on my end. The Problem is, obviously im not able to see whats going on during that time, and as a result of that i usually take attacks form bosses i usually avoid. This is a huge problem for me in hard ffxiv content.

Usually this problem appeared and the next day everything was fixed again without me doing anything.

However, now i have this problem for over a week, and it just wont go away.

This problem is only in FFXIV, any other Game, or even in Voicechat (even at the same time) is fine. its just FFXIV with this isssue.

    Now i tried different things:

    1. I tried using a VPN

    2. I tried checking my network connection but it appears to be fine as well (50MB/s down + 10MB/s up)

    neither did help.

Im on Light (Lich) EU. Im playing on PC (Steam) with Windows 10.
My PC has a Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GB Ram and a GTX 1080. I connect to the Internet from my PC using WiFi (5GHz, because it has higher speed than 2.4Ghz and my pc is the only device using 5Ghz WiFi nearby.)
    My ISP is Telekom (Germany)

I tried to tracert to all FFXIV Servers. I took the domains/Ip for the Servers from https://is.xivup.com/adv

This is the result of the tracert (excluse the german cmd)

(link to Img in case the embedded version doesnt work: https://i.imgur.com/baykqtP.png )

In my opinion on the tracert result the problem isnt on my network.

I hope anyone knows this problem and can help me. It is almost unplayable right now.

There are a few other threads in here about really bad lag, causing the symptoms you describe. In all of those cases, there was a hop to "NTT" or something like that, Square Enix' ISP.
It started the week before the patch, which if memory serves me correctly, happens a lot before big patches, which clears up on patch day.
My experience was just that - it cleared up at patch day.

I think the majority of people (NOT ALL) that had posted on those three threads are either ok now or had switched to a VPN and were good.
I can't speak for everyone (obviously you are having this problem) but those threads which were on the top of the board have not sunk down to third page. One of them is still up her on the first page.

I know this doesn't help you in particular, I wish I had something more constructive to add (although one VPN, kill ping is tailored do find the best path and MANY people on that thread said it worked wonders Couldn't hurt to try the free trial. https://www.killping.com/)

GOOD LUCK! Hope you find a solution and some peace.

Hello, sadly I've been having exactly the same problem since 5.5 hit... not to mention the error 9006 that occurs every 2 minutes on top on that, which keeps disconnecting me to main menu.

    Platform : PC
    Connection : Wi-Fi (5Ghz antenna), ~15mb
    Client : Not using Steam
    Datacenter : Light
    Server : Phoenix
    ISP : Orange (France)

I've tried contacting the support but they weren't of any help, unfortunately. I'll tell you if I find anything but I'm afraid we'll just have to wait for them to deploy a fix somehow.
