Though not totally braindead, once it's out of fashion (3 weeks past release), it kind of is. I was rather disappointed with this whole tier. I understand Yoko Taro didn't handle encounter design, but I was really looking for something new and interesting to throw us through a loop. In this last one we had several recycled mechanics within bosses alone, e.g. get in or get to sides, avoid towers, chain knock backs. A few shb dungeon mechs...
