MEGATHREAD: Requested Hairstyles & Facial Hair

I wanted to thank everyone for their input and continued support for this thread and hope to see continued future support for it!
I've always appreciated the insight of many here and valid questions in regards to which hairstyles and why.

While many players value playable content above all else, there are those of us like myself who see improvements such as hairstyles, housing and the future graphic update to be just as important as playable content.

My guess on the matter as far as why such nice looking hairstyles have yet to grace our presence is simply the focus isn't on hairstyles. (which makes sense all things considered)
And yet, there is a 100% chance Hilda's is in the works but on the XIV teams backburner. They've been known to forget about implementing certain hairstyles (ardashirs ponytail) but have done so recently.
I do ask that in future live letters that allow us to ask questions, everyone who wants certain hairstyles like Hiens, hilda's, Hyth's, Emet's etc to inquire after those.
It's not a waste of time to ask, or a waste of a question imo.
Yoshi-P has in the past said if people wanted Hilda's hair, if the demand was enough it would be added.

(Heck, someone actually asked Yoshi-P if we should save the sandwich that the Exarch had given us back in Shadowbringers and Yoshi-P gave us the honorary face palm. Understandably so lol.)

So, my fellow hairstyle enthusiasts, I ask you continue to persevere and be the squeaky wheel when it comes to implementing hairstyles you want to see.

speaking of Gyr Abania I really wish theydve spent a little extra time before mogtomes dropt and h/v got it unlocked.
It'll just sit in my saddlebag with a dozen other hairs that have the lame-o "we know you have to pay to play this race and every other race is free under the free trial but thats too much effort" asterisk.

They only put out Viera/Hrothgar hair updates for major patches (.1, .2, .3, etc.). There is no "extra work" to put in because they are on a schedule. We don't know how their workload is organized. VierHroth updates might be on a long to-do list for a small handful of employees. They have other schedules to fulfill in the other patches. I think it is very easy to say they should just put in extra time to make sure something works for all races for a particular event, but we don't know how well the folks in charge of hair updates even communicate with the folks in charge of Mogtome events. Either way it is more realistic to expect that Gyr Abanian Plait may be made available in 6.4 in a few days... for Viera, anyway. Hroths are two patches behind which would put this style in 7.0 territory for them, probably.

For the record, it took months between "Styled for Hire" being in the mogtome event and getting added for Viera.

Much as it's fine to hope for the Gyr Abanian plait (and a reasonable guess, as I think we don't have that many unlockable-by-brochure ones left?), it's not a guaranteed sign that it's coming.

There are only 13 styles for viera left however of those half are not locked behind winning some contest or mogstation purchases.

Natively obtainable ingame: Lexentail, Windcaller, Gyr Abania, Afro, Samsonian and Form-and-Function.

7 that are obtainable only by event/purchase: Strife, Noctis, Yshtola (genderlocked), Thancred HW (genderlock), Aymeric, Minfillia (genderlock) and the Wedding styles.

Every femviera wants yshtola but as h/v get only 6 oldies per patch they SHOULD prioritize hair with no genderlocks.
Granted women would get Yshtola and men would obviously get Thancred HW, however that would require two purchases if you fanta regularly bc they are not shared like the Lightning/Snow hairs were.

For, the record I did not say to "expect" that hairstyle with no additional context. I said that expecting it in a major patch is more reasonable than expecting them to add extra hairstyles prematurely in off-main patches when their pattern for VierHroth updates has been crystal clear for over a year. 3 character creator, 3 modern aesthetics every patch. Other than that it's anybody's ballgame. For all we know the next styles added will be Lexen-Tails, wedding and a wild card like the Bozja mullet.

I just really hope square looks at all these amazing hair examples and puts them in the game eventually. I'm looking forward to 7.0 cause I'm also hoping with the graphics update they will focus a lot of their attention to the cosmetic side of ffxiv and finally give us some more long hairstyles, character creator updates, etc.

Not sure when we are getting anymore new hairstyles for all races so I will shamelessly bump this up. I do know they are adding Ice hearts outfit somewhere along the line but it does not include her hair >.< as far as I saw anyhow. The thing is here we all are waiting for Hilda's hair and years later nothing.

I really hope they add some more braided and long hair soon.

We very much won't get Icehearts hair, the xiv loves designing beautiful characters that have long, flowy hair but can't be bothered to design better hairstyles for the playerbase
I've taken getting Lyse's hair as a small victory for those who want long hair

I'm still waiting for Hilda's hair, as well as just a hairstyle contest and some side braids/ long braids and better quality/ designed hairstyles
