Yea agreed, i feel like they dont pay attention to this forum anymore even though they say they doI know some people will be happy to get Zero's hair!
But it feels like we're just getting abunch of the same hair length, choppy chin length hair
I'll stick to my Lyse hair until Hilda hair gets released or the contest hairs (if any are good and not just variations of Lahabrea and Zero hair)
It'd be nice to know what other platform I could try to get the dev teams attention![]()
Zero's is a nice hairstyle to be sure. The chances of me using it for any length of time on my character are subzero, but it's a vibe. It's surprising when I actually acknowledge that Endwalker has added as many hairstyles as it has because most of them have been so similar. Ponytails and short masculine cuts: the two genders of Endwalker hairstyles. The Island Sanctuary ponytails are fine, but two ponytails? Lyse's is gorgeous but it's gender locked to female and men did not get any equivalent to even it out. The buzz cut from Eureka Orthos is quite possibly the worst hairstyle the devs have ever launched and Hephaistos' is... fine (but more of the same). Oh, and Alisae's which is just Alphinaud's mirrored with a red ribbon.I know some people will be happy to get Zero's hair!

I admit as a Viera player the hairstyle updates have been some of my most anticipated parts of each major patch. It feels really nice knowing my favourite race is finally almost on par with all the others in the hairstyle department.
Surely they can't just go dangling Durante with his pretty hairstyle in front of us and then give us Zero's instead.
Like, I have long been resigned to the fact that they will give major characters unique hairstyles that they are unwilling to give to players (I assume lest it kill the server hamster) but Durante doesn't seem major enough to justify a unique hairstyle that won't be reused. He seems more on the level of "important for this story arc only so we'll use him to showcase a new hairstyle for players" level, like Asahi, Ejika Tsunjika, Lyon, the crafter guy from Ehll Tou's questline, etc etc.
Some really good answers in this thread and I agree with.
I know mods are a thing I will never use, I like my account too much. I see Hilda's hair modded and a lot of others and also nice outfits that we would never get in the game. I also see some that are really bad. I know lately it feels as if the dev's are like oh everyone uses mods so no effort is needed which really makes it unfair on us players who do not mod and stick to the rules.
I love FFXIV and played for so long but they have become lazy and not really listening to the feedback about hairstyles and gear. I play on PS5 and I see people on pc's using all kinds of mods. My argument to the dev's is how can modders do these things but they can't?
I'm sure we will get his hairstyle eventually for the reasons you mentioned, but yeah, looks like Zero's is first.Surely they can't just go dangling Durante with his pretty hairstyle in front of us and then give us Zero's instead.

What a dumb comment.I know lately it feels as if the dev's are like oh everyone uses mods so no effort is needed which really makes it unfair on us players who do not mod and stick to the rules.

What hairstyles are good or bad is entirely subjective.
Some people don't like the wild windswept hairstyle they just added. I think it's great and I've wanted a hairstyle like that for a long while. So to me, that feedback is being listened to.
Some people love the long feminine hairstyles like Lyse's ponytail and their feedback is to add more of that. I think they look like dogshit. If they add more like that would it be fair for me to say "OMG NOT LISTENING TO FEEDBACK GG LAZY DEVS!!!1" ?
There are an infinite number of ways to style hair. Unless they start adding fifty hairstyles with every patch there will always be people disappointed with whatever they choose to include. Eventually you will get more of what you like and people with other tastes will have to deal with it like you're dealing with it now. Crying that they're lazy and don't care for not catering to you specifically is incredibly juveline.

Speaking of hairstyles… when do we get to see the contest winners again?
In November! Well, it says "on or around november 2023"
I'm excited to see what wins but also really nervous.
I want to share the ones I've done but the contest entrants have to wait until the winner announcement
I know I half assed mine, literally did it an hour before the deadline cuz I got the dates wrong, but I hope the idea was clear enough lol
If not mine, I hope at least one short masculine hairstyle makes it to the winners. November can't get here fast enough.
