Gridania just needs to be chopped down or segmented into zones, which is what I recall would happen to the cities in terms of redesign. Gridania in particular is more 'filler' than the other 2 cities, while it fits with the forest theme, it's inconvenient for conjurers mainly because their guild is the only one way out of the way from everything.

I cannot follow your reasoning regarding these cities needing to be segmented into zones. A loading screen would just make navigation slower. lol.

Not really, since loading is only slow to some people now because their PCs can't fully handle this game, I noticed what takes me up to 5 seconds to 'zone' from teleport, takes some people a good 2 minutes. (I actually timed it.)

Yes but why would a city be zoned? This game can already handle a city + enormous map without any zone lines. So I don't follow your reasoning, unless it's to intentionally slow people down with unnecessary loading times.

It's happening tho'. All maps will go back to zones like in XI with loading screens, that's what they calim in the 2.0 documents at least. They said it's to have more diverse and dynamic maps, yet other MMO got that and they got seemless maps too..... I guess it's a graphics thing, other mmos are not on the same graphical level as XIV.

Agreed, there is no reason why a city can't be designed to fit within the PS3's memory in it's entirety.
