Suspension of character creation: how long?

Any more news or hints as to how much longer we'll have to wait on the suspension? Or at least set up some kind of world transfer system? Poor timing on the welcome back campaign thing :/ After a year of trying to talk people into playing XIV, now they can't get on our server. Especially since we are paying customers, it's not fair to expect people who have been playing for a long time to start over....

No word sorry, I don't think they really intended to have such a huge problem with the amount of people trying to transfer all over to one server. While there isn't as much of a difference between the populations on worlds as there used to be you can still see there is a few servers with a fairly larger chunk of players than others.

Just a bummer for the most part. We all play so we can play with friends, and when you can't (and there's nothing you can do about) it it's frustrating. Plus I'm really impatient, so I'm like "I need results nowwwww~!" After trying to get these people to play since launch I'm too excited to wait

Well tbh it's partially the players fault as much as it is for the poor server structure, some people just don't log EVER, and even an inactive player takes up memory and space on the server when it's logged in. Given that probably 75% of players that are just sitting around in Uldah aren't even at their keyboards, I don't see any problem with giving them a good old kick from the server after a set period of inactivity outside of the wards. If they wan't to bazaar stuff, then go to one of the wards and let the system take advantage of the search feature to sell their wares quickly.

Yeah, I have so much lag in uldah even just trying to run from the leve desk to the market ward lol. There are a bunch of people afk in the adventurer's guild, outside, by the wards. And to make it worse, they're not even really bazaaring stuff. It's always 9999999999999 for something dumb that no one cares about. Oh well, at least 2.0 is only going to be out this fall hopefully
