    PS5 Beta & UI Scaling

In the PS5 beta it doesn't seem possible to recreate the same interface and text size that was possible in the PS4 version, especially concerning system menu/notification text.

I am using the WQHD setting at 100% and system UI enlarged which has been copied from my PS4 client: whilst the majority of windows look correct with respect to sizing, the system menu text is way too big. Examples include the error you get when using an ability you don't have access to ("Action not yet learned") or boss speech bubbles that appear during mid-fight in the middle of the screen, these appear excessively large.

If I attempt to turn off the "enlarge system UI" problem, the text of all system items including the main menu become very small.

Either there is an issue with those specific pieces of text or there needs to be additional customisation made available to change the menu text size and and on-screen speech text size individually.

    Thanks

I've successfully resolved that by using this combo at System Configuration:
    • Screen Resolution: WQHD (Standard/Balanced choice)
    • User Interface Size: 150% (Full HD recommended)
    • Enlarge system UI OFF

Then I changed Default size to 100% and applied to All UI components.

The problem with those settings is that it enlarges the UI of certain elements that cannot otherwise be controlled, for instance the chat window UI, in particular the bottom buttons such as `General, Party, etc, will become bigger and there is no way to change that (which in itself seems like an oversight).

Also by using a default size on 100% on a scale of 150% does not reduce the size of the elements to the same size as if the scaling was set to 100%, it sets them to the baseline 150% scale which for is already quite big ne uses far too much screen real estate for my liking.
