Is the new new Diadem here to stay?

I'm an achievement hunter who has recently returned to FFXIV after a 2 year break. To allow for taking breaks from the game every now and then I ignore achievements which aren't permanent (i.e. Seasonal Events); that is to say if a new character can't access an achievement in future I'll not set my sights on it.

With that in mind...

I believe the current Diadem is the third revamp of the area with all of the old FATE/NM-related achievements no longer being accessible to new players. Whilst I did enjoy the old Diadem content it had all but died out and I can completely understand why they replaced it with this new system.

As it stands there are currently over 700 achievement points associated with the new skyward Diadem content and having missed the first three restoration phases I have a lot of catching up to do. But I'm wondering if it's even worth it... Of all the achievements currently available in-game I feel like these are the most volatile.

Is this rendition of the Diadem now a permanent fixture or is this likely to be removed in the not-too-distant future?

Its as permanent as any other content in the game. Yoshi stated in the last fan fest they have further plans for the restoration plus they've stated previously they see it as catch up content for casual crafters and gatherers. So far, all signs point to it sticking around.

It will definitely be around until the end of this expansion. It will likely be around next expansion though I don't think it's a guarantee.

Just be warned that getting all the Diadem gathering achievements will take 250-300 hours.

If you like to take breaks from the game, I'd recommend focusing on the other achievements you want to earn first and work on the Diadem achievements with whatever time you have left after doing those. You'll get more of the achievements you want completed that way.

There is also the possibility of new place to rebuild in 6.0. This kind of content has proven to be popular. It wouldn't surprise me if they use the diadem again, to collect materials for this new place.

I'm expecting them to keep the Firmament as its own standalone area, then add the actual Ishgard housing district as its own thing.

Okay, but how do you get the diadem fishing achivements? "turn in 300 artisanal seafood items" ... I've turned in hundreds of points of fish, all three are at 0 of 300.

There are others that can be caught during any weather conditions but they're at specific skyfishing locations.

it must be really Artisanal to be counted, which are somehow rare to catch

on the other hand, i hope they will keep up Diadem. with new reconstruction and place, well there are still some space for adding new material XD but they are keeping Eureka/ old Diadem was in for some long time too even not many ppl joined to explore . so lets hope im planning to focus on crafting achievements when i get into that master crafting one day

It would be really nice if we could get some kind of official confirmation if any of this Restoration content will be going away when 6.0 hits.
