Poor Performance Since patch 5.5, is this normal?

Hello,
When I initially downloaded the newest patch on PC I got direct X 11 errors and it constantly crashed.
Since then, I have updated direct x, and my nvidia drivers, as well as re-installed ff14.

FF14 now works without issues, but, even though I am hearing everyone on playstation enjoying fast load times etc--My experience on PC is now much WORSE! Any swap to a glamor plate has slight delay, and teleports are now MUCH slower. Generally loading into ANY area takes a full 25 seconds at best!
I suppose the problem is insignificant as I 'can' still play, but I'm wondering if anyone else feels the game to be slower and load times actually LONGER now.
Please advise.

GB internet speed, no issues on speed or any other game. Nothing else running.

Also on PC. I started having major slowdowns on PC a week or so prior to patch 5.5. This includes but not limited to really long load times, AoEs either not showing or heavily delayed, audio cues either not sounding or delayed, and much more performance issues with the game.

Patch 5.5 made MANY of those worse. Not all of them, the AoEs are less delayed but are still more delayed than they normally are. Loading into instanced areas is atrocious right now. I queued for the new 24 man on one of my characters. When it popped, I had a whopping 70 second loading screen BEFORE the cutscene even began to play. I feel bad for the other players who had to sit and wait for me to load in.


No crashing or Dx errors or anything but I do have game freezes as an ongoing issue.

I have freezes and stutters since 5.5. Load time is far greater than it was prior. I had some freezes before but now it's shuttering, and in a completely different way from before.

Slow load times, delayed AoEs, some sound effects not firing...some times things lag.

My computer is getting old and is struggling but this game was handled fine prior to 5.5.

No crashes or DX 11 issues that I've seen.

To prevent repeating previously attempted troubleshooting, what have you tried to alleviate the problem? Does this issue happen when Final Fantasy XIV is the only program running? Also, could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

I've had the opposite affect since the patch. My load times are faster and everything feels snappier on PC. I'm sorry you are having issues. I hope they are revolved soon!

Having the exact same issues with DX11 , delays when opening menus , delayed sounds when opening menus and delayed people appering on screen , i never had these problems before this patch and when i switched to DX9 they seem to be fixed

The problem causing the stuttering has to do with a Windows 10 update. I hope links are allowed as I'll post a link to the article that brought this to my attention. It's from PC Gamer.

My game now plays as smooth as it did before 5.5 dropped. It's awesome. No more stutter and hitches, although I can't guarantee if it'll stop people from having crashes. Hopefully, this works for others who are having this issue. Microsoft needs to do more QA.
