Need Help Creating a "Shout" Macro.

I have decided to try to form my own FC and want to prepare a "Shout" Macro to advertise it.

I am stuck getting more than one line in the macro and would like to use three or four lines to complete it.

The only help I have been able to get from google was to add <wait.2> at the end of a line in order to create another.

This does not work for me.

Will someone who understands how to make such a macro longer than one line please try to explain to me how to do it?

    Thank you!

you would like to add two or more messages at the same time? if so
    /shout message
    /shout message two

    would probably work.

You can try the /wait command with an extra line like

    /shout text
    /wait 1
    /shout text

Better advice: do not do this thing. 99.9% of people who hear you will be annoyed; and you probably do not want anyone who WOULD join from a shout macro.

But the answers you've gotten so (basically, multiple /shouts, possibly separated by waits) should work.

Shouting is okay, as long as it is not too much text wich clutters the chat window... honestly if you can't fit it into one /shout line it is too much text.

Keep it simple, we already know that you are looking for new and veteran players who are 18+, that you have a house, Discord and are "a bit crazy".

Thanks for the help! I have done a fair amount of recruiting in the FC's I was a member of and have concluded that there really is no good way to do it that does not aggravate some people you try to invite. I wanted to use a shout command because I am only interested in inviting players that enjoy greeting members when they come online and welcoming new members when they join and also enjoy participating in FC chat.

Based upon my (relatively new player) experience, roughly around 10 to 20 percent of random players joining an FC have any interest in doing this. The rest in general have little to no interest in participating in FC chat. A fair number never say anything at all, even when greeted. I want to weed those people out before inviting them.

I can do this by just stipulating, once anyone joins, that they will be booted if they are not interested in participating in FC chat and doing so to those who are completely uncommunicative.

The reason I am going thru the effort of creating an FC is because those people looking for a communicative environment were the ones leaving the FC's I was in because of a lack of participation in FC chat.

An effective way to create communication in an FC is to just empty your every passing thought and frustration into the free company chat. It will usually provoke some conversations.

Some people do that in an annoying way but it is effective, you just need enough people who bother to react to your random thoughts.

Just some advice, rather than a shout macro, why not talk to the people you're trying to recruit and pick out the kind of people you want that way?

For example, I bard in main cities a lot and usually end up getting people stopping to listen. After I finish a song I'll strike up conversations with the crowd, in particular anyone without an FC. If the person is chill and we seem to mesh well, I'll invite them to the FC. It's worked out really well so far and we havent had a single piece of drama in over 4 months now.

One thing you kind of have to understand as well is that it won't always be talkative and active in an FC. People will dip out between patches and come back for launch, for example. I've been told stories of those in 100+ person FCs that only have 1/4 active on a regular basis. You can't really force people to perform at your expectations 24/7 because at the end of the day, people are going to people and do what they want.
