    Final 700MB of 5.5 PC patch downloading extremely slowly

    I was able to download approximately 90% of the patch overnight; however, at 700.98 MB remaining, I got an error "Unable to download patch files. [30413][25008][10009]." I have since managed to recommence the download, however the download is happening at an extremely slow rate, ranging from 0.03MB/s to less than 0.01MB/s; this is in contrast to my usual speed of 0.25MB/s or so, half that when my fiance and I are both downloading patch files.

    Yes, I do have slow internet, but this incredibly slow rate is unique to the FFXIV download alone, and only on the last 10% of this specific patch. Anecdotally, I've also heard from a few other people experiencing the same issue.

    Data I do have:

    ISP: CenturyLink (DSL) in the upper Midwest
    Speed test result: 3.14 Mbps, or 0.39 MB/s
    Platform: Windows 10
    Launcher version: 2021.03.26.0000.0001 (6182915)


    Edit: Fiance got up and checked his download; it failed at the exact same point (700.98 MB remaining) despite his download starting later than mine. If the issue was related to our network, he should have had more left to download than me.

    Windows reports 153 of 464 GB free on my primary drive (Samsung SSD).

    Edit: I should also note that drive speed is a known non-issue. Due to the delay, I decided to pull some bird photos off my camera to clean them up, and had no issue transferring substantially more data than this download.

    Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    We apologize for the delay in our response, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

    -Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

    -Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.
