Please stop putting Triple Triad cards in Extreme content

The Varis card was added as a drop from Memoria Miseria Extreme in 5.25. After several days of PUG runs I managed to get it and hoped that would be the last of it. But now in 5.5 the G-Warrior card requires 1 totem from each of the Extreme Weapon fights.

Please stop doing this. It's not that Extremes are too difficult in terms of their design. It's that without a competent static, Extreme and Savage content is simply unpleasant to deal with which is why I stopped doing it years ago. It sucks having to wait sometimes over an hour for a PF group to fill only to disband after 2 wipes. It sucks when you're playing perfectly but someone else screws up and wipes the raid. It sucks when you make a mistake and ruin it for everyone else.

It is already hard enough to collect every card without locking them behind Extremes as well.

Eh, they'd need to address tournament only cards first. Or rather how people blatantly cheat to get top 3 places.
And G-Warrior is actually fair. It has a "fixed" drop rate. For Varis i had to kill him like 20 or so times to get the card. Here you just need to clear each fight once.

Eh, I think this is fair. 1 clear for each? I don't have a clear for any of them yet, but I will eventually. And the card will be waiting.

I'm fine with G-Warrior, because its fixed. But I do see the annoyance, since TT is definitely catered towards the casual content. The Memeora Miseria card to me is worse, as there is NO reason for me to do that fight atm, not reward or mat.
The Tournament cards need a fix as well if they are going to be giving a reward out soon for getting every card.

Every patch I keep hoping for Varis card to become an NPC reward, similar to what they did with the various Eureka bosses.
Every patch I am disappointed to see it isn't.

And regarding G-Warrior, while it isn't too demanding, I just don't want to learn those fights....I just want to chill and casually collect those cards, just like I casually go complete my fishing log at my own pace.
There are enough rewards exclusive to EX fights (mounts, orchestrion, weapon, mats for the barding/minion/furnishing), no need to lock cards behind them on top of it all. I think it was the case with Thordan too, and I hated it.

I also agree with the person saying they should fix the tournament rewards.

It's still not a really good design choice to put "casual" rewards behind any "endgame-level content only"-source, even with "fixed" rewards. Sure you just need one clear each for G-Warrior, but depending on your server/playtime/friend-group/skill, that can still be a unnecessary hassle when you're really just interested in playing a minigame. Rewarding card-players that can/want to do Extremes with higher drops rates is one thing, but imho anyone should still be able to 100% their Triad collection without ever setting foot in any endgame-level content.

As for the Tournament-Top3-only cards, I think most of that could be solved by making Platinum packs either more common rewards (ex. Increasing the amount given after a tournament.) and/or nudging the Tournament-only cards percentages a little higher within them. They could even simply have the Trader NPC sell them for some exorbitant amount of MGP or make them rare drops from beating specific "higher tier" NPCs like Lewena.
Heck they could just give everyone the opportunity some older players like myself got and bring back Tataru as a playable NPC. Give her all the tournament cards as rewards, and just make her the cheatingest little bastard in all of Eorzea who lolrekts you in like 90% of your matches. You keep those cards in a prestigious/difficult standing while at least letting folks have a shot at a specific card more often than once-every-eight-weeks. Playing her is the only reason I had Lightning and Firion for years before those randomly fell out of a Platinum for me.

I'm kind of hoping at this point that the "EX Cards" (the ones of other FF game characters) aren't counting towards the "have everything" total becuase the tournament ones are the only ones you can't actively grind out. If they are, they need to give them to some npc or make them purchasable by some means, because having to wait like two weeks just to try again to get them isn't ideal.

Yeah, this is how I feel. Doesn't feel like in the spirit of the Gold Saucer, and I consider Triple Triad part of Gold Saucer even if you can play outside of it. If there was a part of the game I encourage it to baby players and be real gentle, this is it. It usually has a pretty clear divide between it and any combat content. None of the stuff you can buy for MGP for example can really help you in combat or to become stronger. I think it should focus on that, and stuff like cards outside of Gold Saucer should come from really light content like FATEs.

I agree with OP. I lost interest in doing Extreme and Savage content a long time ago also, for various reasons that don't need to be listed here. But I do enjoy collecting cards as something to do when I have nothing else left to do for the week, which has led me to having all the cards minus these ones. I guess we can wait till 90 cap and unsync, but yeah it's disappointing for those that don't care for the Extreme content when it's new.

Or they could just make those cards sellable on MB? Lol. Not much I spend my gil on these days outside of gearing gatherer/crafters.
