Feedback on new font for ingame names

I cannot read this. It like like someone scrawled in MS Paint.

I saw this too and was like 'this looks very rough-hewn.' It's alright, but now it loads names and stuff from way too far away instead of just letting it scroll in the closer I get to it.

Edit: I tried adjusting the gamma settings to 0, it helps a bit but this is still a hot mess of an update. I want my shadowed nameplates back SE!

I would very much like to see this be an OPTION that can be toggled on or off. As a dyslexic, trying to read with this new name font is really hard. :/

Not a PS5 issue. I play on PC and actually noticed this immediately when I logged in. I thought my graphic settings had been tweaked or something. I switched to the new 4k UI afterwards and rebooted, but this seems to be a new thinner font style they've introduced.

The thing with thinner fonts is that when you start moving the camera around, or moving in general, they tend to be much more harder to read. When the text is not moving, you can see that they are sharper, but to be honest. This little part of the update feels like a downgrade.

Often times you see names moving, so for most of the time they'll be in the state of being a little harder to read. And it does look slightly more distorted when you view names from a distance.

Old font seems does seem to be more readable due to thicker edges.
