Love or hate his "fanboying" they've been sparse, it's not like every other word is him having a fit that he's actually hanging out with the WoL, in fact most of his moments have been triggered by the others teasing him about it and him getting flustered over it. By and large Graha just wants to help and has done just that, he tags a long, pretty much only added insight when it's made sense, and been given roles that make sense for him to have been given, allagan tech here, play the role of merchant there, and for all of his supposed show stealing, he actually doesn't talk all that much, unless we're in direct conversation with him, he's rather reserved, tending only to speak if he feels he's something worth contributing.

That’s something we’re going to have to disagree on. 5.4 was supposed to be alisaie’s arc, what with the tempering cure and all that and it was overshadowed by graha vying for the attention. Even in the Ct quests, doga etc were overshadowed by Graha. I also agree with the alisaie estinien moment being out of place as well, but graha was just the overkill on it that wasn’t necessary at all. His roles however, since you bring it up,a lot of them conflict with other characters whose roles are supposed to be just that. Merchant? Alphinaud for example. He just seems to always find a way to disrupt the flow of story and lore, whether it be with the plot holes tied to him or just the way his writing is. Obviously it’s an unpopular opinion because people love their cute catboy and he could do no harm. People just need to not be oblivious to his faults.

And it was her ark, the Scions are a team it may have been her idea and desire but she couldn't do it alone and like anything else the Scions do, they bring member's who can help with whatever they're trying to do. Need to infiltrate somewhere? Thancred's our man, need someone Aetherically sensitive and knowledgeable? Y'shtola, need history and understanding of something? Speak with Urianger. Need a someone who can understand and even gain special access to Allagan tech? Good thing we just gained someone like that.
It being her ark doesn't mean she has to do it alone, it was her goal and she sought out the people she believed could help her see it become a reality and asked for their help or they offered it and she accepted it and then they formulated a plan and each played their part to make her dream real, like a team would. 4.0 was Lyse ark, I guess the WoL and other Scions should have all gone home as not to intrude on it.

I also never really feel he overshowed her, he was given moments of course, but I feel that's more down to this version of the character is literally a patch old, this was his very first outing as the fused Graha who we and I think even he isn't sure fully who he is just yet, but even with that little extra focus it was still very much Alisaie’s quest and by 5.5 he's very much settled into the background when not in focus.
I don't think he's perfect at all, none of the scions or any of the characters are, which is what makes them great, but I just don't see his "fanboying" as such a major flaw when he himself has done it so little, most of it is others teasing him for his admiration of the WoL, episodes like the one from 5.5 can be counted on one hand missing a few fingers.
