With Graha everything is put to a halt so he can have his little fanboy moments in what is supposed to be a very serious situation with people dying left and right. It ruins the tension in the story. Graha’s only purpose now is to be a plot device and to have constant plot convenience for the protags. Other than that he really contributes nothing to the overall story and is just really a detriment in the grand scheme of things(with plot holes and plot armor orbiting around him).
I mean... he had his moment, while Estinien was mistaking the twins, hardly a serious narrative moment he "ground to a halt" and it literally flashed to him for 5 seconds, he took up less time in that scene than it took Alisaie to dramatically announce she was in fact not her her brother.
Love or hate his "fanboying" they've been sparse, it's not like every other word is him having a fit that he's actually hanging out with the WoL, in fact most of his moments have been triggered by the others teasing him about it and him getting flustered over it. By and large Graha just wants to help and has done just that, he tags a long, pretty much only added insight when it's made sense, and been given roles that make sense for him to have been given, allagan tech here, play the role of merchant there, and for all of his supposed show stealing, he actually doesn't talk all that much, unless we're in direct conversation with him, he's rather reserved, tending only to speak if he feels he's something worth contributing.
