Role playing? Decorating? One private and one fc isn't enough? Can't see any other reason, and if is there one I sincerely won't to know it. It seems I started a war in this thread.

I have one large house that is set up as a museum in Shirogane. The limit of furniture means my second floor is mostly empty. I have a second house on the waterfront in Mist with a beachside cottage feel. Very compact and cozy. A third is a sort of arboretum that’s still a WIP.
Compared to my good good friend who bought a large in Ul’dah who has nothing but a single spotlight on a single chair in the central atrium. Lights out. Now he’s well within his rights to decorate however he wants (including what looks like a 3rd world interrogation scene...)... but I could do a lot more with it we’re it in my hands. He has no interest in decorating it. He just wanted to have 3 garden plots.
Yes and yes, that would be two valid reasons.
Housing is a touchy subject so I guess so.
Many who use multiple alts use it for having multiple airships/workshop for maximize passively generating gil. iirc there was a Mew fella on this forum that everyone universally seemed to hate.
I'm sorry if I'm English is not perfect like yours sir. I don't really understand how people can judge. So since I forgot to do a step inside, I don't care about my house and I'm here for nothing right? Instead, people who has multiple houses care more than me cause they remember to do it. Even if they don't care for real cause they didn't use it. (and for you information I was planning to change my decorations when I had a bit of time since I have little time for playing). But yeah rules are rules and seems here in not the right place for opinionsNot to be rude, but... if those people dont lose their houses its because they actually use them at least once in 45 days. And I dare say that its "more fair" (...is that proper english? Sounds wrong...) for someone who cares enough about multiple homes to visit them this one time in a 45 day period in which said person keeps an active sub than for someone to sit on a house they apparently forget about for over a month, despite keeping an active sub.
As a little sidenote: I doubt that on most worlds a signifcant amount of plots would open if those who were grandfathered in would lose their plots. Same goes for those who somehow game the system by using shell-FCs and the like, but here I would be more inclined to agree that anyone who violates not only the word but the spirit of the rules should lose those extra houses.
...which still wouldnt help because we'd still have more demand than supply - which is why we have the timer now: To make sure that the houses belong to people who are "actively" using them. With a kinda love bar for anyone whos keeping an active sub (one step into the house every 45 days).
I do agree though that they should do better than they - mainly by finding a way to add instance housing. Until they do I'd say this is the best system we'll get to make sure that the houses go to active players who are actually using them. Even though it really sucks for anyone who loses their house due to some real lofe catastrophe - those are the people I feel deeply sorry for... anyone who just forgets to enter their house for over a month... probably didnt really use the house in the first place.
And Btw, I owned the house for more than 3 years and as I said I didn't receive any warning of demolition. and if you don't know the real life of someone you should not judge the care for something of someone else. Not to be rude, but... if those people dont lose their houses its because they actually use them at least once in 45 days. Was this your house? If it was and your bf was only a tenant, he would not get emails. It's possible to see the timer for the house you are a resident of, but unless you are the owner, you cannot reset it.
Time to buy an apartment and make some new memories.
Harsh as it may be if you have had the house for 3 years you sho8ld ya e known how demo timers work. Doubt it was an in game error, maybe the email bugged out but I gave e was working as intended.

Hm. Bright side, someone new can make their own memories now?
