    Regular disconnections error 90002

I have been through a customer support ticket( [t15818284:f74e] Regular disconnections error 90002 ), and now they have asked me to post here. They have checked my PC and it is ok.

Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Support Centre.

    We are contacting you regarding your issue with FINAL FANTASY XIV;

After investigating your issue and comments, the team in charge has informed us that if you do not believe the issue is with your PC and that it is an issue with the actual traffic, you need to post this on our technical support forums.

We apologise again for the inconvenience caused. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Kind regards,

The Square Enix Support Centre team
My comments they referred to was to point them to the link below, and suggest it is a problem with the data routing at your end.

Not sure why this couldn't have been done internally.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We apologize for the delay in our response, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

-Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

-Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

I have ensured the explorer settings are as you require.

I run the game from Steam so i have no desktop launcher to set to administrator rights.

When going through the troubleshooting steps with your support previously I opened up the required ports on the router, although the router does dynamically assign internal IP addresses to network devices so they only stayed on my PC for a day or 2, before my old address was given to a sonos speaker.

This morning the connection was fine on ping plotter, but right now the last but one hop has massive latency, and hop 9 has 27% packet loss (I have seen it higher in the past) see below.

    7 28 ms 26 ms 23 ms m686-mp2.cvx1-b.lis.dial.ntli.net [62.254.42.174]

    17 36 ms 43 ms 38 ms 195.82.50.50

I am not a network engineer, so I am asking will this cause a problem, how much latency will the game cope with before it assumes the connection is lost?

I will let you know if the explorer changes have any effect.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We do apologize for the delay in responding. Unfortunately, we cannot answer how much latency the game can cope with before it loses connection as we do not have that information. Has adjusting the Internet Explorer settings resolved the issue or caused any changes in the connection?

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Still happening even after the explorer changes.

Also tried things others have suggested in the threads on the same topic.

Running Netlimiter 4 with FFXIV set to a critical application.

Tried blocking the screwed up IP at 195.82.50.234 with windows firewall for inbound and outbound traffic in the hope the data would get redirected.

Nothing makes a difference. My ISP says it's not them, SE also say it's not you. Lots of players in several threads with different ISP's in different countries are having this issue. Check the 99 page post in the french technical support forum.

There is definitely a problem just before your server. We can all see it.
