packet loss and high latency from EU server

Pinging and tracert 195.82.50.57 (which should be the server IP) gives packet loss and high latency aroun 100 ms.

Even friends of mine who pings the server get the same issue

Solution right now is running a vpn, but that should not be neccesary

To prevent repeating previously attempted troubleshooting, what have you tried to alleviate the problem? Are you using a wired connection? What platform do you play on?

Using Windows (not steam) and wired connection. Tried skipping the router, with same results. However it seems to finally solved itself, will have to test the next couple of days.

I just logged in, to see if it was indeed fixed or not. So, I log in and my character appears next to the servant bell at the Gold Saucer. The very first thing I attempt to do, naturally, is to click on it. But nothing happens. Everything freezes for a while... I wait... BAM ! Error 9006. Back to main menu. I haven't even been able to do a simple thing such as giving a task to a servant ! One more absolutely wasted day of subscription.

So... while it is encouraging to hear that it's been fixed for some (as it appears to be the case for the author of the post), the problem still remains.

There is this topic talking about it. And also this one with dozens of posts talking about latency with Orange ISP. This has been going on for weeks.
