There has been like one or two parties where we got further and in one we got to the tornados but then people had to leave.

But holy hell nothing has made me actually hate people as much as the constant barrage of people joining groups meant for later mechanics with clearly zero experience.
My signature doesn't hold true anymore I am actually just angry.
I feel like I've gone through like 50 food buffs or something and the overwhelming majority of it has just been the first few mechanics.
What upsets me even more is how people are just blatantly lying to our faces, they VERY clearly don't know what they're doing but have a billion excuses why they spent an hour wiping to plumes and wings or why they can't calculate 4+2 or stand on a yellow square.

And here I thought P2S was the worst but nope, this is actually worse.
P3s will do that. I should've cleared week 2, but due to PF being unable to do that fight and some static issues it wasn't till week 3.

Yeah I think I might have to try and put together a 0 chests group tomorrow or something and see if people want to help.
I think I had to do that with P2S the first time too if I remember correctly.

When you find a group that is actually competent but also relaxed the PF can be great fun to progress with.
But usually it tends to be either people who are totally clueless or people who treat practice or clear attempt groups as farm groups and stress everyone out and makes it a very unfun experience ( which was my last attempt for tonight ).
Even if I am not the one messing up it still stresses me out a lot too when people make a big deal out of every single wipe right from the very beginning and starts pointing fingers, even when it's clear people do know and are making genuine mistakes.

Dude didn't even seem to know who was even at fault to begin with either, on the first wipe I had some lag but I didn't screw up any mechanics I just felt some delay on my buttons.
So I said that I might have to restart the game to change the node in Mudfish and he was all like '' mhm, yeah suuuuuuuuuuuure ''.
Like dude, I didn't even mess up xD.............. Don't '' mhm '' me.

I actually did go with a static today that was very relaxed and I like the people there, and they offered me a spot but I declined since I don't like sitting on Discord or be tied to a group I kinda just want to play when I want ( also I am VERY anti-social ).
But I am starting to regret it.

Yeah, I stick to statics these days. I haven't PUG'd anything since Sigmascape.

I hit my limit for PUGing when I cleared Sigmascape 3 Savage in a PUG slightly before my statics at the time.

The reason I stopped PUGing after that was that I'd PUG'd a ton before it, and it was always the same story. Folks lying about prog or people on alts who think they're hot shit.

The PUG I was in that cleared it featured two tanks who were on alts, alts they hadn't bothered to really minimally gear for Savage. We had... oh... 4 or so 0.5~2% wipes on O7S in that PUG as a "first time" clear group.

At the time, ya know, crafted gear was like i350. Byakko weapons were i355. Tome gear i360 and Savage/Upgrades were 370.

One tank, a PLD, was rocking Susano i320 sword, i340 left side, one i350 accessory, two i330s, and two i320s. Nothing melded.
The other tank, iirc was a DRK. They had i340 weapon, i340 leftside with I think an i350 belt. i330 accesories with one i350 accessory. Also nothing melded.

After the second 1% wipe I said them, "Hey, let's back out and have you guys meld your gear, at least. That's quickly doable and we'll clear NP. Maybe buy i350 crafted weapons if you've got gil."

    Their response?

"It's not our TANK DPS that's the problem. Y'all just need to stop fucking up. We're tanking perfectly. Y'all just suck, and need to do baseline DPS. We know the fight 100%. These are our alts. Melds don't matter at this point."

So we win eventually... and then they act like they were the reason we cleared. I turn to the healers and thank them for carrying the shit ass tanks, and told the tanks directly that they suck.

When Alphascape landed, I considered PUGing it, but by that time I was in two statics already and I kept seeing all these PF strat names I didn't recognize at all and thought to myself, "Well, I've cleared the fights but I don't know those strats... not gonna hassle myself for some slightly better alt gearing."

Nowadays I only have the one static, and honestly can barely be assed to raid. It doesn't hold nearly the same amount of enjoyment for me that it used to, and I think it's for several reasons both outside and inside me. I go, I have fun watching my friends shit talk each other/make sexual metaphor jokes at the bosses. I enjoy killing the bosses a little. I turn back to my GF afterwards, and don't even touch my alts.

The ffxiv community has definitely rubbed off on me a lot. It's been awhile since I have seen so many outright 'toxic' players. I mean name calling, and the like. Did some harder endgame content in Lost Ark for the first time - blind of course - and was called some nasty stuff. I'm sure when I got the MvP regardless at the end for 46% damage dealt, that probably made them a little mad.

I used to enjoy raiding but it was something I did much more actively years ago back when I played WoW. I did do a decent amount of raiding in FFXIV itself but I don't have the same enthusiasm for it that I once did.

It'd be nice to find a group of likeminded players who I could build up a good rapport with over time but raiding being treated like a second job in many cases is a real turn off to me.

So I turned to PvP as my 'end game' and although Frontlines isn't perfect, I'd like to think I've done pretty well for myself:

I'm tentatively excited for the new PvP mode that we're getting. I think I'll enjoy that more than ranked PvP in its current form.

I could never get into PvE (raiding) - even when I was more of a people person. Way too much time to set up, way too much time progging, a lot of frustration if things go wrong. Sure the end clear is an amazing feeling after all the work put into getting it, but 90% of raiding was just so.. stressful, boring, tedious..

I'm cautious about the supposed new mode. I haven't looked at anything recently, never watched the liveletter or whatever either. I also don't know how you can do so many frontlines. Frontlines, in my opinion, is some of the worst PvP content I have ever played in any game. I'd really rather go back and do huttball over and over again.

I like Rival Wings in XIV. Other than that, PVP sort of bums me out. I find it difficult to matter as an individual. It's all grouping and pressing advantages etc. Often find myself moving with the group and still getting dunked on regardless.

    My brother loves it though.

Course, I've never been big on PVP. Except in like Halo and Destiny. Even then... idk, it brings out the worst in me. I get so angry. One time in Destiny 1 PVP, a friend of mine thought the match up was hopeless and left mid match while we were actually winning. Her BF left to be with her after, and I slammed my table in frustration. Which my laptop was on. I split my laptop in half, incidentally. PVP has also caused me to crush a controller in my grip just holding it too tightly while trying to contain my anger.

So I can't PVP for long, or I get too worked up.

My first and one of the few PvP experiences I had in FFXIV was both negative and positive.
It was negative because we had an elitist MCH who was being very try-hard and acted like it was a premade, and like the second we were about to lose I went Leeroy Jenkis ( because why not we had already lost duh ).
And the MCH saw it and went completely mental about it and turned me into the scapegoat why we had lost and started claiming that I had been doing that the entire match and that's why we lost ( I was the second highest rank on our team, so wat? ).
I only did it at the very end when we had already lost rofl, the entire time I had been following the group as a Healer.
He also started blaming the other Healer too.

People actually whispered me afterwards tho and said that I did a good job and shouldn't listen to him, and it was multiple people so it outweighed the bad one.
And I did think that PvP was surprisingly better than I had heard.
I dunno what it is with the FFXIV community but I think people are very negative about all of the content.
A lot of Streamers new to FFXIV will skip stuff like Bozja because people make it sound like a Korean MMO grindfest and like it's absolutely horrible, Mikepreachwow tried it and he loved it.
It was so good it made him do a video almost revolving entirely around it and why he thinks that type of endgame is better than the endgame in WoW.

Same with Palace of the Dead, Eureka and even the story.
If you listen to the loud ones on the forums and in comment sections you'd get the impression that the story is horrible and that you should just skip.
There's so many examples I can think of where people told me some content in FFXIV sucked and then I tried it and enjoyed it a lot, and I've seen so many Streamers having the same experience too.
A lot of people seem to act like if it's not perfect then it's literal torture.

That moment when you cook bacon in the microwave the day before and the whole house still smells like bacon the next day.

Sounds like an aromatherapy device set on a timer, only better.
