Picked up a used copy of Elden Ring, because why not. My only prior experience with a Souls game isWeeb SoulsCode Vein, so....time to cover the land with my corpses, I suppose.
Don't be afraid to use the summons, they really help mitigate the frustration new players can feel.
I always though of Code vein as Vampire waifu Dark Souls
On the plus side, I found the horse and some summon wolf spirits.
On the other side, I found a teleport trap that sent me to a rusty-looking swamp, and on the way out I almost got murdered by a rotting dragon and had to run like hell.

A little gaming recommendation, probably overdue given that it's been a while since it was released: for those who haven't already, the Skyrim "Enderal" mod is more than excellent. Never give up, never surrender!

It can inflict Scarlet RotWhich is essentially this game's toxic, but way cooler and lore oriented.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
