I have to say, the friendly banter happening in this thread is really wholesome :3
This was never the happiest place ever, gaming forums never are, but the last week or so it got pretty bad in my opinion and even reading isn't that entertaining anymore.
And to be honest, if I had read the forum before installing the test version back then, I'm not sure I would have ever tried the game! I'm used to OFs having a negative vibe (ESO says hello...), but this one is a bit of a dumpster fire.
Maybe the mods use it as a social experiment?
Anyway, was thinking about older games today that I'm really fond of and would deserve some kind of remake/remaster/re-release to get more attention than they got back then.
1. Terranigma on the Super Nintendo, sadly is not available anywhere outside of shady ROM sites. I'm glad I still have my physical copy! Iirc that one wasn't released outside Japan/Europe?
2. Legend of Dragoon on PS1, loved that one and still have my copy. Sadly it didn't sell well so the sequel was axed, but seems to be seen as a cult classic today and is quite rare.
3. Lost Odyssey on Xbox360, not that old but great game with an interesting story and has Final Fantasy vibes all over it for obvious reasons.
Do you also have old games you're nostalgic about?

Whenever I play Vampire Survivors, mostly because the characters look like Castlevania characters.
I really blame the moderators for the current state of the forums. They used to be far stricter and I have friends who were permabanned just for using a four lettered word in a post.I have to say, the friendly banter happening in this thread is really wholesome :3

Now, we have habitual trolls using multiple accounts to sock puppet. The moderators need to start throwing permanent bans out like candy. Until then, the forums will continue to be a dumpster fire.
Spy vs Spy, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox, and The Secret of Mana are the games I'm most nostalgic about. I also miss arcade games like Tempest.Anyway, was thinking about older games today that I'm really fond of and would deserve some kind of remake/remaster/re-release to get more attention than they got back then.

God there's DOZENS OF US now who are Terranigma enjoyers. Dozens!!! Terranigma's my fave game of all time :3 I'm hoping they give it the HD2D remakeover like they did for Live A Live and Actraiser myself, it'd be perfect. Japan, Europe, and Australia got Terranigma, but the US was still in its Very Puritan, No Religion Allowed phase for games so I emulated it so long ago. I have a physical copy though, with a PAL SNES to play it.![]()
Yeah, that's what I remember reading about it. That's a shame. But don't worry, we had (and to a degree still have) our own "somebody think of the children!" stuff over here in Germany.God there's DOZENS OF US now who are Terranigma enjoyers. Dozens!!! Our media rating people from USK are very, very allergic to anything violent and even games with a age rating of 18 got censored. And that rating means, it could only be purchased by adults! I guess, somebody got a stroke when playing the first God of War for the ratingThe German version of a lot of older games has green blood or smoke instead of blood to circumvent restrictions...
But I hadn't thought so many people still remember that gameFor me it was the first game I bought myself, had to plunder my piggy bank for it. When our local wholesale was clearing their video game section, it was heavily discounted and I paid 50 D-Mark (about 25 Euro) for it. Still a lot of money for a kid, but since the normal price would have been 150 D-Mark it was a bargain.
If you think about it, at least here in Germany, although everything got way more expensive over the years, video games stayed relativly stable if you compare the prices from the 90s to today.
*yikes* Now I feel old >.<
Breath of Fire IV is still my favourite of the series, but it was so hard to follow the story back then if all English you knew was what they teach in schoolOriginally Posted by Theodric
The Legend of Dragoon finally being available on the PS5 makes me cautiously optimistic that we'll see some other classic PS1 and PS2 JRPG's added as well. I'd especially like to see Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy Tactics, Breath of Fire IV and Shadow Hearts to name but a handful.![]()
