There's a certain charm to older horror movies that isn't often captured in more modern horror movies. I'm indifferent to blood and gore - I don't mind it being present, though I want it to serve a purpose and be atmospheric rather than purely mean spirited. The best horror chase scenes are, in my opinion, the ones where the victims at least try to fight back and get a hit or two in.

Some horror movies that really stick out to me that I've watched lately would include Eden Lake, The Descent, Dog Soldiers and Hereditary.
