Would probably be a little less silly if some of these people did the content they're whinging about. :b
I was full on paragon for the whole trilogy until the prompt appear when Kai Leng tried to backstab me. Never press a button so fast in my life, killing this poser was almost worth having him harass me the whole game.
I was mostly Paragon, but there were a few Renegade prompts I just couldn't resist. Like headbutting the krogan voiced by Worf during Grunt's loyalty mission, or shooting Udina, or gutting Kai Leng like a fish.
Paragon gets you many things...including being able to take some renegade reactions without it effecting your run. Always be pragmatic.
My first time through I played Paragon as described by Mollusk. Took the Renegade actions I thought were too good to pass up.
Namely, not letting that Batarian bastard get away on the Asteroid. The way it was framed back when I did it the first time, I thought that by letting him go, he was going to undo my work on slowing the asteroid. Guy targeted 4.4 million humans. No, no. Dying in your sick bed by the third game is far too good for you, Batarian.
My next time through the entire trilogy I tried in vain to max both Paragon and Renegade. I got them both high enough that the only thing I got locked out of by the end was making Illusive shoot himself.
Actually choosing way more Renegade options was really refreshing, and some of them were actually quite surprisingly for the better in all aspects. Better end results, better short term and long term etc.
The scars on my face flip flopping was also kinda funny too. One mission they're searing orange, cracking my face apart. By the middle of the next mission they're mostly healed again...
Also I romanced Liara and only Liara the whole of the second playthrough. I thought it'd make the final mind meld she does for farewell better in ME3. But I actually wound up preferring that scene without the kissing. It's a little more romantic without the kissing, honestly.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
I originally played male Shepard, but when I found out you could romance Garrus in ME2...I had to replay just to swap to female. Garrus just has that attraction that pulls you in. It's an absolute shame you can't romance him as male, but I can't see Shepard as anything other than female again due to Jennifer Hale's stellar voice.
I tried to do actions much like I would do in certain situations or with certain people. I consider myself 3/4 Paragon and 1/4 renegade. I'm nice when it makes sense but I also have no problem telling people "Fall in line right now or get out of my way or I will steamroll through you in order to fix the problem"
I picked Renegade for the same situations but also add in when you stun rod the one guy fixing the mech or doing the front thrust kick into the merc and kicking out of the window while looking for Thane.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
I've heard a lot of ladies that like Mass Effect love Garrus. Something about his voice and demeanor. Cool bro material, but I never really grew super attached to him.I originally played male Shepard, but when I found out you could romance Garrus in ME2...I had to replay just to swap to female. Jennifer Hale is great, but she'll always be Bastila Shan to me, and I don't think I could enjoy a ME playthrough with her as Shepard. I just hear Bastila, and at this point, Male Shepard's flat performance for the character is part of the charm to me. I also have a tendency to make him kinda ugly. Generally by accident. (Also I've seen waaaaaaay too much Rule 34 of FemShep)
My favorite romances are Liara, Samara, and Jack. Though only because of how Jack shapes up in ME3.
