It was probably done as a way to have the new staff hired for Prime 4 to experiment with the lighting and modelling. And I agree it's a very good remaster.Bought the physical release of Metroid Prime Remastered today (friend also loves it so physical is so we both can play it). This is not just an upscale, models have been completely redone, as has lighting and numerous other effects. They even brought back the fact that shooting water creates ripples (it wasn't there in Trilogy)! THIS is how you Remaster something.
I'm hoping they use it as a base so we can hopefully get remasters of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. I've been begging for a Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch for years, now is the time to fulfill that dream.
