That was me until yesterday, when a friend said Fiend is a direct"rip-off" of the song. To be fair to me I didn't know Powerman 5000 either.
Mortal Fist
Technically he said that it was normal for them to be similar, as he engraciated himself with the genre the team was going for to make the song. He said "When Worlds Collide" and Powerman 5000 were probably among the playlist, but that inspiration wasn't unique to one specific song. As in, it's natural that they sound similar because Soken drew inspiration from songs around that style, but he denied plagiarism and claimed he didn't even know of the band to begin with.
Playing Star Ocean: The Divine Force, beaten the first post game dungeon like it was nothing. Waltz up the 2nd post game dungeon (really just a glorified boss gauntlet), reach Ethereal Queen...who then proceeds to stomp me under her heels like I was way underleveled (I'm at level cap with the best weapons and armor you can craft). One hell of a difficulty spike, so I've spent the entire day getting stuff ready for a 2nd attempt at this witch, via copying a build I saw from a youtube video. I will DESTROY this witch.
I feel like the last couple Star Oceans have these weird difficulty spikes. In Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness there was a moment early in the game where a character had to do something on a computer and you had to protect them. No matter what I did the fight would start and end in 5 seconds with a game over because the enemies would zerg rush the person on the computer and kill them. No way to stun the enemies, no way to kill them that fast. I tried to heal at the very start of the fight but they kill the person before it even pops off. I looked on GameFaqs and they said not only is this fight extremely hard...it happens MULTIPLE times.Playing Star Ocean: The Divine Force, beaten the first post game dungeon like it was nothing. So I figured I was just under leveled. I gained 5 more levels which was a chore cause mobs give virtually no XP at that level and they STILL get killed in seconds. I quit immediately after that.

Sounds like any escort mission in FFXI. Just terribly bad.
Can't get too close to the NPC. Can't be too far from the NPC... Can't let the NPC stare at you directly. Can't let the NPC die. Oh, by the way, he's so weak he dies in like 5 hits from fighting anything, and yes, he will try to fight any goblin in his path.
You pretty much have to get another player to enter the zone pre-emptively, and kill everything in the NPC's path while you "escort" him.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
You actually need a specific role on said character (Skulker), since it lowers their likelihood of being attacked. Meanwhile you need another role (Instigator) on one or more party members that INCREASES their odds of getting attacked. You're essentially trying to play the AI into focusing on you and ignoring them. It works pretty well, but every now and then one or more of them will still try to aim at said person.I feel like the last couple Star Oceans have these weird difficulty spikes. I don't remember roles being in the game and if so I think it's lame that the default role for that person is that considering you just picked them up and then it throws that fight in.You actually need a specific role on said character (Skulker), since it lowers their likelihood of being attacked. Roles are basically modifiers for attacks, damage, etc etc. Playing them right can get you to absolutely destroy enemies. But it's also a nuisance to get some roles to begin with. Instigator alone requires you to kill 5 enemies at the same time. Also, I made a mistake there, you want Assassin on her, which requires her getting Ace and Sharpshooter up to level 3.
That sounds like it's later in the game. I'm talking about the first hour. I doubt within the first hour I can set up several roles or have them leveled. Then again I only played it an hour with 30 minutes of it trying to get past that one fight so I could be wrong. The fight killed my interest in the game completely.Roles are basically modifiers for attacks, damage, etc etc. Playing them right can get you to absolutely destroy enemies.
