If it's a reboot, that's fine. Seeing how Rings of Power went, copyright can totally screw over a piece of media. But please. Can we please pretend the 3rd Birthday didn't exist...? Please, Nomura?

That was written by Toriyama (FF13 trilogy), not Tokita, who wrote the original Parasite Eve game...as well as FF4 and Chrono Trigger.
Feels weird to be Au Ra again!
I hope Wizards of the Coast have something planned for their story than just ruining it all at the end. Again.
So let me get this straight. You reveal Tamiyo, the woman who sealed an eldritch monster on a moon unwillingly, has an adopted son. You make the Emperor of Kamigawa give her the one item that could stabilize her powers and let her live a "normal" life with her boyfriend. And 5 minutes later you Compleate her and let the antagonist keep the item.
Then they have Ajani. The guy whose world was destroyed and now is on a 5+-way war? Who then had to deal with that dragon about three times and proved he's not some random guy? Who helped Elspeth come to terms with her trauma and then got super traumatized himself when she died? To the point where his bumbling figure while mourning moved the most selfish character to the point she had to turn around and crack jokes instead? Who now found Elspeth alive again and helped her find a cure for Phyrexian conversion? The guy who's become a mentor to other people?
lmao compleated off-screen. Oh and his duel with Teferi just ends with him being kicked out of a stained glass window. I'm pretty sure Ajani would have broken the fall somehow and climbed back up. You know... because he's NOT a novice planeswalker.
Oh and apparently he LIKES being a horrible monster that tortured his best friend since she was a child and is the primary reason for all her personal problems. Because BRAINWASHING
...so really, are they going to remember that Elspeth has a "cure" or are they just going to drop the whole plot for drama and out go two of the few really interesting characters they have left? Because I don't like Chandra. I don't like Liliana anymore. They made Sorin super boring. I don't care for Vivien Reid, and if you think Karn gives me any joy, he doesn't.
If they kill Ajani after all this, I'm definitely quitting. There are a few decently written planeswalkers left, but... I don't think I'll trust Wizards to handle them right.
Like, they have so many useless characters, and they went for the ones people were familiar with and had stuff to resolve.

You've reminded me of why I stopped paying attention to Magic's lore decades ago.
