Shadow Hearts is one of my favorites as well. It was dark, horror-esque while also having its own lighthearted moments from time to time, with a very unique battle system using the Judgement Ring and Sanity Points. I also like how the franchise threw a curveball by having bad endings of previous games as canon. That's a gutsy move, and one that paid off well.
