"OK so due to chronic part shortages we're reducing your production line's quota and reducing its manpower accordingly. That means two dozen people need to sign up to go to the factory across the street, which may mean being put on graveyard shift, and the sign-up sheet for that will be up for three days starting tomorrow (today; nobody signed it). If not enough people volunteer we're going to start volunteering people based on seniority... oh, and you don't have a whole lot of that due to being a relatively new hire despite working for years as a temp, so unless we get those 24 you're virtually guaranteed to be volunteered. There are a good number of newer hires... but they're all in their probationary period so they don't count. We've been working on this plan all summer and are telling you about it little more than a week before it's being implemented. It's what's best for the business."

I've worked hard to get my anger issues at work under control, but this is really trying me. I take a lot of pride in my work, but what's best for the business... may not be what's best for the self...
