Oh yeah, Skyrim is great fun all around. I just found that my experience improved significantly when I discovered mods on PC. It's nice being able to make whatever kind of game you want. I don't think I could ever go back to playing it regularly.
I need to look up what mods they have. I'm afraid though that I would just end up modding it to be more like Oblivion, such as the map, gameplay, and adding in magic creation (why did they take that away!?).
Nexusmods is where it's at if you are interested in modding your game. Just keep in mind that in between the lore friendly and various overhaul mods there may be a few that are pretty nsfw, so browse at your own discretion. You can filter your searches though to not include anything you don't want to see. But yeah, there's a few pretty decent magic mods. Not sure if there's any magic creation ones, but there are plenty that straight up give you more spells. You can also Oblivion up your game if that is what you want with a good many options. There's even a mod called Beyond Skyrim: Bruma which lets you go back to Cyrodiil, and others that add items from Oblivion to Skyrim. If you do decide you want to mod it, I'd use their Vortex app. It installs and auto sorts your mods for you, and it lets you know what you are missing to get certain mods to work, making it relatively painless.
(Dangit, now I want to mod another playthrough. lol)
While you were busy enjoying Skyrim mods, I BECAME THE STORM THAT IS APPROACHING.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
That's why I don't want to do another playthrough anytime soon. Having to redo everything for the Skyrim Anniversary. Ugh.. I never updated the game, so my old setup is still fine, but I don't want to not play it with Anniversary next time. So it's a bit of a conundrum. Eventually during some more FFXIV downtime I'll probably get around to it.
