Yes, ESO has real difficulties with their meta builds. The devs have no clue how to balance this game or they simply do not care. And they swing from one meta build to another meta build. I played this game at very beginning and back then there was a vampire fire sorc meta build and melee builds were completly useless. It is sad because this game has it's own uniqueness. The ingame music is also very good. I love "Northpoint Nocturne".

I think that what especially gets me about it is that the classes all feel like they play the same.
It's sort of a weakness of the '' every class can be anything '', I think it constricts their design quite a bit.
And the Meta has basically been the same since forever they don't rly switch it up at all so it's just the same all the time, and even when you get new classes they still adhere to the same playstyle.
The difference rly feels mostly visual and the visuals aren't even strong to begin with.

Also, I presume to play on the console version, you need the usual PSPlus stuff like FFXIV does?

FFXIV doesn't require PSPlus. I know I don't have it and I play on console just fine.

Does it not? I don't play XIV on PS4 so I had no idea; I thought I'd heard the PSPlus requirement a long time ago, but who knows. Mandela effect might be in play due to other games needing it.

Really annoyed. Get a full fricking new laptop and there's already issues. Discord and mic being weird. FFXIV not showing up as a valid game in Discord. I guess I have so little information I don't know if the issue is with Discord or my mic system and FFXIV... seems I'm not out of the woods from diagnosing problems just yet.

To the person in that one CT run who recommended me Everhood, THANK YOU! I gave it a hard pass back in the day due to the visuals but that game is a real gem. Everyone goes crazy over the song Revenge but I think fiesty flowers is just as good but in a chill way.

I wouldn't worry too much about the 'meta' in ESO, especially if you're not intending to do high end content. It's by no means 'meta' but I play a Breton Nightblade who specialises in using a pair of daggers and a bow in battle...and tapping into stamina rather magicka. It leaves me at a disadvantage compared to what would be considered 'meta' but it's the playstyle and overall 'class fantasy' that I enjoy most.

I kind of wish my GF had enjoyed ESO. We started it up, and I was an Orc Sun Warrior thingie and she was some sorta elf rogue-esque thing. But being unable to skill up sneak and play it like she plays regular Elder Scrolls turned her off faster than Dark Souls did (which she still wants to finish eventually).
