It actually looks really really good imo, I never played the original tho I am not actually a FF fan or anything.
Only FF game I've played before FFXIV was FF Lightning Returns xD.
I think I just didn't find the gameplay appealing when I was younger but nowadays I really enjoy that type of gameplay.
Just a fair warning - the FF7 ReMakester is great!! But Nomura has taken liberty with the story, and it is not a 1:1 redo of the original FF7 story. I had a friend get upset because they had people marketting it to them as a way to experience the FF7 story in fresh hi-def graphics, only to realize it isn't the same exact story as the original.

Still very worth it, but just be forewarned about that!
