KOTOR remake

Rofl I forgot that was getting a remake.
Yeah, uh.
I have no faith in that tbh.

Altho I actually enjoyed Kotor 2 more than 1.
I still love Kotor 1 but it's definitely a bit more of a typical fantasy hero story ( regardless of the twist ).
I feel like both games tho are kinda just perfect as they are as far as the writing goes.
A remaster I think would be great but not a remaster.

In fairness they seem to have left the overall game alone in this regard, but I'll try to explain it.
They swapped out armor previews at the character creation in a really lazy and dumb way to try and have more modest previews.
It was very lazily done though they have repeated gear so you've got two identical armor sets in different colors taking up two slots that on Korean and Russian servers are two unique sets.
Those two and some others are also new I think and they look absolutely terrible and not like they fit the rest of the gear at all they look like they're from a totally different game altogether.

And then they changed the starting gear and how your character looks when they've got no gear on.
The gear doesn't even fit the classes the Martial Artist for example looks like she's a knight and it was pretty transparent that the mentality was '' no skin bellow the neck '' for all of them ( didn't happen to the male characters tho, two of them still got revealing ones ).
The way your character looks with no gear on ( your default look ) is also the same as the new starting gear which is a permanent change you can't do anything about and it looks very strange.
And as a result your gear doesn't even change how your character looks even the icons show the old original gear but they have the wrong model.

Imo I don't think it's that big of a deal so long as they don't touch the rest of the game, I am not sure I believe that they won't tho the fact it was even on the table at all to change any of this is concerning to me.
It also makes me think that they won't add some skins to the cash shop altogether, or that they'll change more in future updates.
You're also bombarded with some of the skimpiest gear in the game in the trial area which defeats the whole purpose.
The female Gunslinger also has her original '' unequipped '' look as her new starting gear which again defeats the purpose.
But then when you take her gear off she's suddenly in a full black suit that looks like it's epic gear or a skin from the store rofl.
Your default looks in Diablo 3 for example clearly look like '' I have no gear on '' I dunno why tf they thought it was a problem here.

Their marketing also has censored versions of costumes in it ( uncensored ingame ) which obviously caused concern too, their marketing isn't even consistent about this either tho which again begs the question as to why.
Even tho I think some of the outrage was exaggerated I still think it was a problem they created themselves.
The feedback to it was overwhelmingly negative and all we got was copy pasted answers that didn't actually answer any of the concerns about it and they seem'd to basically refuse to deliver the feedback to the devs.

But yeah...
Imo I think that if you're gonna change this kind of stuff you've gotta have a VERY good reason and be more consistent and less lazy about it.
Otherwise it feels like you're only compromising the game and making it worse, even if it's slightly worse it's still worse for no real reason which is a bad precedent to set.
For example I can understand why characters in Korea MMO's that look like minors get censored, there is a logic behind it and it's usually consistently done.

Man, I hope that the KoTOR Remake does good. I pray that the KoTOR Remake does good. I hope that the game is so good that it bridges the divide of the SW Fandom and that we can move forward to bigger and better movies and games. The last time I had personal expectations this high for a game was with New Gundam Breakers and I'd rather rewatch Space Runaway Ideon, Grave of the Fireflies, and End of Evangelion back to back than talk about that game ever again.

I miss the old Star Wars games especially the Jedi Knight series.
The future of Star Wars tho seems to be Disney's push for the '' New Republic '' or whatever it was called tho.
It reminds me too much of a Disneyland merchandise IP lol.
I dunno what it is I can't explain it but everytime I look at it all I can think is '' this was designed to sell merchandise ''.
