Kind of surprised at how easy it was to get back into the swing of FFXI. Though I definitely do not have as much patience for some of its malarkey as I used too. The fact that coffer keys can only drop from specific monsters of specific level in each dungeon that has coffers is kind of irritating. I'd for some reason forgot this, and had assumed it was any monsters in the dungeon that were above the lowest level monsters that drop the coffer keys.

You can just buy the coffer keys now, for a paltry gil amount, but that's only if you advance the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel storyline until you get the Rhapsody in Umber key item. I don't want to do that, because I am trying to record/catalogue the game's narrative in some semblance of a reasonable order (also I don't want the option to use Trusts on Maat).

This had made Artifact armor acquisition a tiresome endeavor. The first 15 jobs in the game require coffer keys for 3/5ths of their AF armor. You can pick the lock for the hands armor related coffer if you have Thief leveled, and I do, but even so... That's two coffer keys required per job. 30 coffer keys total.

At least I can combine EXP gains with coffer farming, but dang lol. All in all though, Trusts make coffer key acquisition pretty quick. Shantotto II pretty much ends any coffer level mob upon any skillchain(except Transfixion) going off, and even with just THF sub, can get a coffer key in like 10 minutes this way. But then comes the endeavor of finding the coffer itself. Everytime it's been Eldieme Necropolis thus far, I've had to go through Beaucidine Glacier into the northern half of Batallia Downs... Ugh.

On the brightside, all the globe trotting is letting me see and kill Notorious Monsters I'd never seen or killed before.
