I guess my 'Halloween' this year was technically on Saturday. I went to go see the new Dune movie with a certain forum poster. It was pretty good. A long movie, but the seats in the cinema were very comfortable. The next part of the movie isn't out until 2023, though...

I've been debating if I want to watch that - though not in theatres, though, since Covid's still surging bad in my state. I don't know much about the Dune franchise other than it being very beloved, but I've been seeing some gifs on Tumblr of it and it's definitely piqued my interest.

i‘d say give it a watch. i went in without any expectations (didn‘t watch the trailer) and had no idea about the novels and i was positively surprised. had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. the acting was great, the music was phenomenal (hans zimmer was the composer) and the visuals were breathtaking.
i‘ve watched it a second time since!

I echo Fukuro's comment above. I went in knowing very little about what to expect but ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. If you watch it at home, you'll also have the benefit of skipping adverts.

Just wanted to comment if you like reading try the original book. I didn't read the sequels but read the original when it came out. I want to see the remake movie but will wait til it's out of the theaters

I'll likely look into it. The setting has a lot of stuff I love in a story, such as intrigue and scheming between different noble houses. I imagine that's even more fleshed out in the source material. Plus, now that the weather is getting colder it's the perfect time to sit back and read on the sofa!

I loved reading, but since audible all I can say is audio books are the bomb. I am always in my car traveling so it's perfect and it's also nice at night before I sleep I put the sleep timer on and I'm good to go! Audio books ftw.

I actually haven't celebrated Halloween since like 2009. I mean, other than things like all saints' wake and other halloween events in games. Grew up in a family that barely celebrates holidays for one, but also living in a rural area since I moved from California (my home state) means we don't get trick or treaters. I've moved multiple times since living here too, and still don't get trick or treaters.

Trick or Treat from Casa de Mollusk! Our Halloween tradition is to set up a small fire bowl in the driveway and roast hot dogs and smores while waiting for kids.

This pic definitely brings back memories though.

What would really do it for me would be a successful WH or WH40k MMO.

I'd love to see one of these as well, I'm just not sure how they could pull it off with the sheer breadth of races and "classes" without also making it super PvP focused like the previous one.
