I'm the type of guy who plays the likes of Oblivion and Skyrim without mods.
I'll have to alt up on your server one of these days to visit your houses, to steal ideas of course.

Some of the glitching I've seen when I've looked at some player houses is definitely pretty jarring. It's like, as long as you look at it from the front - it's fine, but as soon as you walk around it, it looks a bit.. ridiculous. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's interesting what people can come up with, but I don't know if I'd want that look for my house.

I do prefer to play a game the way it was meant to be played as well, but for those games, I do like to enhance the experience with some lore friendly enhancements, bug fixes, and graphical mods. PC players like to talk about how those games are unplayable without mods, but most people actually played them for years without mods on console in actuality, and made the game(s) more popular initially.

:P Yes, of course! My modless Skyrim never breaks, though there are still hilarious Bethesda glitches obviously(well hasn't broken yet). I don't play it a ton, because I prefer other games, but it is my GF's favorite video game, so I wind up playing it more than I would otherwise, because she likes to, and I quote, "See how differently I play compared to her."

She plays a Sneak 100, Pickpocketing 100, Marksman 100 style character. Imperial, concerned with gold. She mods in all these pickpocketing mods for super special pickpocketed treasure troves and stuff. She married Brynholf or however his name is spelled in the Thieves' Guild, but has to have the pretty faces mod on or whatever. She hates followers, so she never has one unless a quest requires it.

I play a Two-handed 100, Enchanting 100(thanks Black Star), Heavy Armor 100 style character. Orc, concerned with power. Currently working on better Restoration. It's at 50 but I need more perks. Already practically unkillable, though( I mean Elder Scrolls aren't exactly hard, even Morrowind is easy, if you know what's what). I married Mjoll the Lioness, mainly because she's hawt and her bonding quest involves beating the bolts out of a Steam Centurion and returning her special Glass sword to her. I don't mind having a follower. Extra carry space, without mods, and also handy in battle if they're good. Mjoll is very strong. I have her armed with Volendrung.

I mostly get my Elder Scrolls fix from ESO these days, though I can only bring myself to play that on the side rather than as my main MMO of choice. In both the single player games and ESO I typically play some sort of opportunistic thief, usually an Altmer or a Breton. My playthroughs generally involve my character being mostly good, starting out as little more than a stealthy archer and then just gradually ramping things up to the point where my character is seeking to steal every last shiny treasure in sight. Then, towards the end of a playthrough I decide to lean on the darker side of things as an excuse to join the Dark Brotherhood. That way, in theory, I get to do almost everything.

Haven't had a lot of time to play it today due to work + basically conking out for a few hours once I got home (gotta stay up for CR, after all! and I was exhausted), but I'm enjoying Voice of Cards so far.

Very simplistic, but I enjoy the half-storybook/half-tabletop game vibe it has going on. Sometimes less is better, and it's a fun little game to play idly on my Switch.

Looking forward to getting further in the story tomorrow, as I got... sidetracked for 2 hours by the card game minigame.

You just verbatim wrote out what I usually tend to play in TES games haha. Though I've made a couple characters in Morrowind and Oblivion that were more just opportunistic killers/ruin divers than thieves.

Yeah my brain can't handle the creativity with housing glitching like people did on housingsnap... Mine is medium and it feels overwhelming to try those glitch so I just decorate it as vanilla as possible...

We tried ESO out together, but when she found out she wasn't going to really be able to skill up sneak and stuff, she just... couldn't get over it. So we bailed on ESO heh. I thought it was kinda cool. I was trying out the Dragon Knight or Templar or whatever. Sun magic? or something like that. Orc again. I have a strong affinity for Berserker Rage, even in the older games where it cut Agility by 50(which is really bad).

You also described basically how my GF plays, heh. I think it's pretty standard for a lot of Elder Scrolls enjoyers. Though coincidentally her recent playthrough went pretty much to a T just like you described. She completed the Thieves' Guild, the main quest, the Civil War, and the DLCs. Then she did Dark Brotherhood.

My good friend who moved to Alabama last year played in a very similar way. Though he's always Khajit. And focuses on Dark Brotherhood first, thievery later.

The most sneaking I ever did was in Oblivion. Mainly because of the Dark Brotherhood line bonus rewards. I did pick up an affinity for lockpicking due to this, which I sorta view as a universal skill anyway, since there's always locked doors and chests somewhere.

I generally prefer picks to the unlock spells. I can't even remember the last time I cast one. Do they even still have them?

May I interest you all in the teachings of Veloth and the good Daedra? Also, Skyrim does indeed belong to the Nords.

    lol

I find it hard to side with Ulfric in every single one of my playthroughs, so I go to the Imperials to help reclaim Skyrim. For the nords, of course. Just not every nord. Especially not that Ulfric guy.
