Dead by Daylight attracts more obvious Heartless, though. The same Heartless that'll swallow whatever their peers think is right.
Most of gamers are desperate for power fantasy, you can see this in console wars where nobody really cares about the positives of exclusivity. It's always a limited amount of phrases: "I hate console A, so I want game to come to platform B", "I don't want to play this game to begin with but everyone talks about it, so I'll complain about exclusivity, say I won't buy it and go play Apex", "Exclusivity is cool because it makes me feel cool :cool " . Did you see the recent meltdown over God of War, a 4 year old (in 2022) game coming to PC? It has already been given out for free and put on streaming services but some act like they've been personally insulted because more people get to play it, because the game will likely be easier to preserve, etc. While others seem completely ignorant about the negative impact of this event - the more of these ports happen, the less likely people will be to support games on PS platforms, and the MORE that happens, the less unique games we'll have.
Without additional big publisher funding there is simply no need or opportunity for a unique exclusive game. Nintendo would not be Nintendo if they were just a publisher with weak hardware and games they put out on Steam and PS4/Xbox. If you pull in people who want, say, Astral Chain or No More Heroes 3, you're inviting them to an ecosystem where something like Captain Toad or, say, Fragile Dreams on Wii is a reality, and not a title everyone'll forget as soon as it's out.
Final Fantasy XIV community can be okay but it's pretty much the same "okay" as working in an office with a bunch of Karens and Kevins. Bright 32-teeth smiles until you tell them "no" and they loose their ****
